Ahh I see. Then Buses should make for good defensive barriers. My settlements are crap except for the Red Rocket truck stop and she ain't grand. I will start directing my focus towards building these up. Up until recently I've been neglecting them.

The other nice thing about the buses as perimeter walls is you can put beds in them and assign your gaurds to sleep in them

Right now I am rolling with 2 main weapons

    1) Overseer Guardian (.308) Does 180 damage, shoots an extra projectile each time.

I was using the FH .45-70, but I can put a recon scope on this, and its quieter.

    2) Lucky Double D (10mm) auto pistol, crits do double, and the crit meter fills 15% faster

This is a lot of fun, perfect for raiders, ghouls, and assorted trash that doesnt need a rifle. A great fire rate. So easy, to double or triple tap the scum of the wasteland.

So I was looking up adhesive in the wiki.
Apparently in the cooking station you can make adhesive, by crafting startch (3 mut, 3 corn, 3 tato and 1 water), then scrapping the starch (in the workshop)
And the section talked about an ideal place to farm those things.

Spectacle island, this is pretty cool, the entire island is a settlement, at least it looks that way when I go into workshop, and see a green perimeter, just off shore.
You need to do some minor stuff to make the workshop accessible...

    Its visible from Warwick Settlement

Is that the stupid settlement with the broken house which is messed up? You cant scrap stuff you should be able too there.
This is a settlement up on a hill which overlooks a bridge to a factory

Used a few techniques I learned in norespawn's Youtube videos but once you get a floor set in there you can snap to it normally

That ruined building is just under 2 build " units " wide so if you get a floor in the upper area , you can snap walls along the sides of the ruin and house the ruined walls just inside the new walls , you then just need to glitch in some wall sections to fill in the holes

Started playing with the new DLC. Some initial stuff I noted.

One, I do *not* like having to align with Vault-Tec in this way to progress. But if you don't, the Overseer is expelled and all the quests are cancelled. Boo, considering your character is a victim of a Vault-Tec experiment in the opening of the game, *against your will*. It just feels dirty, tho I understand why they did it.

Two, and I'm going to be as spoiler lite as I can here...while much of the wildlife you'll find is pretty lightweight, just molerats and such....I don't know how much of it was level scaling or not, as I was greeted by a legendary glowing mirelurk hunter and a mirelurk queen on one room, along with some assorted random crawdad soldiers. But I'm in my 60s ATM, so ... just be aware.

Three, there's a circuit board lying around in each of the sectors that you'll need to find for future quests. One in the north sector, one in the east, one in the northeast. Might as well grab these early.

When you get started, the 'main' room where you meet the overseer needs a fair bit of cleaning up to open the access points to the other sector areas. Like, as in, be prepared to scrap cranes and trains. Literally.

Once you've done that, the opening Vault 88 layout is pretty friggin' yuge. This looks like it's going to be fun! FYI, you CAN fast travel out from inside the vault, just like you can from the Railroad HQ. Nice to not have to run outside to travel.

Can you link it by supply lines to your other settlements ?

    Yep.

Funny enough...I was just finishing up having Macready on this playthrough...he hit idolised while I was clearing the entrance room to the new Vault 88 and gave me killshot.

I saved and immediately sent him from my home base (Sanctuary Island) to...Sanctuary Island, then assigned him (in full flamer, sniper rife, and heavy armor gear, but minus the X-01 suit) to a provisioner role to the new Vault. Immediately had all my resources available as the others before.

Although, the new Vault 88 space build area is entirely underground, so I'm not sure how/what the 'defense' section is supposed to do or how it's supposed to work. I wonder if there need to be defenses set up for constantly spawning interior mobs? That would be interesting.

Sorry, I didn't get THAT far in past the initial clear, I'm watching the DNC coverage.

Not gonna get into it here, as I'm a bit of a political junkie, and watched the RNC last week as well.

    *shrug*

One of the things I like about this board is there is no politcalness.
