Thanks for the info, I live in Los Angeles so I do drive a lot of highway but I'm still averaging 16 the matter what I do. I guess if it helps with off-road and gives u a few extra mpgs around town 4.88 is the way to go huh? How much does it cost to regear anyway?

And sorry for the dumb questions, still pretty new to this. Have only had the truck for a year

With stock 4.10s and auto, I'm right around 2500 at 70ish. But I only get like 13 freeway.

These days, I get my best MPGs cruising the interstate. It is the starting and stopping that kills it.

I can see 20-21 keeping it between 70-75. Around town, it is 14-15. 4.88s gears with the auto on 33s. 70 mph (GPS) 72 indicated is right at 2500 RPMs. The only reason the speedometer is that close is because I swapped to a 33tooth speedo gear, otherwise it would be way off with the gear swap.

It is a small gear driven off of your t-case, next to the rear driveshaft output. It sends a signal to the ECU so it knows how fast you are going.

If you want your speedo to be accurate (sort of) you have to change it after regearing.

The best mpg I get is from the 50-60 range. Typically a back road commute dropping my daughter off somewhere. Cruising in 5th gear, feathering the pedal, no traffic lights or stop signs. I can get 22-23 mpg.

If I go on the highway and do 65-75, my mpgs drop to bout 20.

If I had more money and less common sense I would paint my truck in the old flat tan/brown/black desert camo pattern that the Army used to use back in the 70s. When I was a kid my dad was a supply sergeant for the California National Guard, I used to hang out at the armory with him all the time, and all of the deuce-and-a-halfs, jeeps, and Dodge Ramchargers in the motor pool were painted with that camo pattern. That would make me feel like a kid again. :D

I just installed an OME kit from Wheeler's last weekend. Definitely get all new hardware. I had 1 seized bolt (main eye bolt) and it sucked to stop what I was doing and run to the store. Get all greasable.

It's going to be vehicle dependent. My stock shackles came off just fine while other people had issues with bushings/bolts being seized in their shackles.

In my opinion you're better off being safe than sorry while your rear suspension is torn apart.
