Here is the situation. The dash lights, speedo, tach, etc. go out when I turn the parking or head lights on. They operate properly otherwise. The clock and vent lights still operate and dim accordingly with the park and heads on or off.

This has occured after my audio install. Before I tear the dash apart again, I wanted to know if anyone know the wire or wires that I have either missed or misconnected. I am sure I will figure it out but having a direction pointed out will only expedite the process.

    Thanks in advance Fellas,

    G

My guess would be that you connected the factory dimmer wire from the stereo harness to something wrong. I would first disconnect it from everything else and then see if things come back on.

Appreciate it Seth, I had the neg dimmer wire just hanging around back there. 3am installs will do that I guess. (Long story) Its all hooked up now. The dimmer doesn't seem to be dimming the gauges and deck, but hell, at least I will be able to see the gauges now.

Check your ground wire for the dimmer. In fact, double check them all just to be sure. When mine went out, I missed the ground completely. I went back and fixed it. Problem solved.

Just thinking off hand. I am not presuming ignorance here, don't take offense, as I am just trying to help.

Check fuses? Double check all the harnesses. Did you pull or tweak the wires that go to behind the dash console? It is very remote that you did. But, could there be a chance that you pulled some wires from a harness, or maybe to the point of breaking during your install? Other than these options, and testing all the wires with a meter, go to the shop. Maybe someone with more expertise than I will have better ideas.

Good luck Bro, good news about he mileage though! ;)
