Hope so. It's pretty sad when my old truck, a 3/4 ton Dodge 4x4 quad cab with a 24v diesel got better mileage TOWING than my brand new Tacoma does on stock wheels and tires, lol.

I probably missed it but when are you going in for the software update? Or did it not apply for your VIN?

The people that say they are getting 20+ on 100+ mile drive, of course you are however, my everyday driving is not 100+ miles non stop.

Morning: 15 miles 45 minutes on avg. Speeds of 0-45mph.
Going home: 15 miles 30 minutes on avg. Speeds 15-65mph.

If I drive from SoCal to NorCal, I would hope to get 20mpg but my daily driving I dont plan to ever see the 20 mark ever again.

Lift won't help but won't hurt as much as larger heavier grade tires

I guarantee when my truck is here I will very over 20 average. Mid twenties I hope. People need to learn to drive economically. If you live in a city with shitty traffic then you're just fucked anyways.

i am at 5000mile and I am getting between 19-21mpg on my work commute and thats a ton of up and down large hills in western PA. I am more then pleased with that number. Sure beats the 15mpg I was getting from my previous 12 GT 5.0 mustang

Yeah what auto manufacturers don't realize is if the dealerships that sell there cars/trucks treated the customer right... they would have more repeat buyers. I would still be driving my 2015 Chevy Colorado if this were the case. GM wanted to treat me like I was a idiot so I had to cross them off my "never to own again list."

It does apply. My wife is taking the Tacoma to Colorado for 10 days, so it might get done down there or when they get back. This is my busy time for work, so I have little time for such nonsense..

I live in Phoenix. You don't go anywhere with ease and no interruptions. Stop lights and traffic. I routinely average greater than 23. Here are a couple of trip monitors and tank monitors. Still have factory tires and wheels.

I think the idea that higher-reving engines will blow up prematurely is a fear leftover from the 1980's. If that were the case you'd never see old Honda Civics on the road. You got a warranty and although the 3.5 isn't powerful, it's been tested before being put in the Tacoma. Enjoy your truck and wind it out when you feel the need!

My commute is 25 miles of pretty much pure highway at 75mph. I'm averaging 18.5 - 19 mpg. I'm pretty happy with that, haven't taken it longer distance at lower speeds yet. I knew what I was getting into after getting 30mpg average with my WRX (and not being shy with the gas pedal either).

correct. These motors are put through some pretty rigorous testing before being put into a vehicle. Also, the computer rev limiter would keep well away from over revving the engine
