Got tired of the humongous tail gate key so I hacked up a copy.

    Rookie question for you guys...

I have my TRD 4x4 full cab. I intend to take it for some relatively gnarly offroading a few times a year - in fact I just got back from my first trip. The truck handled it well and I didn't bottom out on anything. The truck has stock suspension, tires and wheels.

My question - I want to install Predator tube steps on the truck. Is this going to impact my clearance/width? Is it a negligible difference in the grand scheme of things?

If it were a separate button (like a trunk button on a camry remote) and didn't unlock with every time the doors were unlocked I would. I have had PopnLock products fail in the past and do not want to mess with them again.

If you're going to do gnarly offroading you probably want sliders, hit rocks and those Predator tubes will bend like paper.

I use one and it really does make a big difference. My windows are pretty dark so I'm sure that helps. That being said, the cab is noticeably cooler after sitting in the hot sun all day compared to just one hour in the sun without the sunshade.

5100s/OME 888s. Dakar leaf pack. Total Chaos UCAs. DeMello Sliders. BAMF Recessed Grille. Prinsu Cabrack and Toprack.
I have a 2" lift and had predator steps. I took it off-roading in the desert and the steps would hang up once in a while when making steep transitions at the top of a hill or when going over rocks. If you plan on doing technical off-roading trips, you would be better off with either sliders or running boards that do not have steps.
