New owner in So MD, New to the site

I traded in my 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T for a '16 two weeks ago....

2 days ago.... rear ended at a stoplight.

So far id have to say my experience with a Tacoma has been unlike any other vehicle experience thus far. (Mainly because I have never been in an accident with my previous vehicles). I love the truck. I am excited to begin the projects on this vehicle as soon as i get it back from the insurance adjustors.

If you take the time to read this, let me know the first mod you all made to your vehicle. I am very eager to see what you all did.

    /R,
    -STEVE-

I'm pretty sure something is out to get new Tacoma owners... All of my previous vehicles and not a single accident or ticket. Got my Tacoma and already been in a wreck and had two tickets. What gives? At least mine isn't silver... Those seem to have the worst luck.

I think my first mod was some General Grabber AT2s in the same size as the ORs.

TRD OR comes with 265/70/R16 tires. My first mod (and really only mod) was to add Plasticolor Mudflaps because I wanted something rubbery and flexible not the stiff molded plastic that comes on the truck stock.

Welcome, and hate you got rear ended so soon! My first mods were: bed mat, door sill protectors, tow hitch and ball, mudflaps. Will do more like tailgate letter inserts, bed cover, bumpers.....but only as $$ allows.

Sorry about your accident, glad youre ok. Do the air bags go off when youre rear ended? Always wondered. Mine was a victim of a 10' tall glass door that broke off a building in a storm and landed on my front bumper. My mods include waiting ever SO patiently for BAMF rock sliders, mud flaps which dont fit with my tires and SCS bronce wheels, bed mat and plastiderped the front bumper and grill, removed badging and decals, and converted all lights to LED and head/fogs to H9's.

Steve. Welcome to the forum. Make sure you check out the MD thread.

You are right in our backyard. We just released a new rear bumper for the 2016 Tacoma. It's burly and will surely damage the hell out of the next car that wants to rear end you.

    Check it out here:

    http://mobtownoffroad.com/product/bumper-3/

We also have an array of other products for your truck including rock sliders and bed accessories. We have some awesome t-shirts as well.

Check Out My Build Thread :)
I would say for starters what do you plan on using the truck for? off-roading every weekend? rock crawling? mall crawling lol the list goes on and on... i'm fairly new to the Tacoma scene as well but I went with the whole... "off-road weekend warrior" outlook as I mainly drive just to and from work M-F and every month try to get out on a weekend or two for some trips but nothing crazy... I went with suspension, better tires, side steps for the kids etc. Basically what i'm getting at is get what you want and will use not what others "think" you need... I've learned that the hard way back in the modified car scene... its not about what you have but how you use it :bananadance:
