Problem: Transmission Sticking In Neutral

Obviously, this is going to the shop since it's brand new and under warranty, but I'm curious if anyone here has experienced a similar issue and what the problem is.

My automatic transmission, when doing standard highway driving, will sometimes stick while shifting. Usually right at about 35 mph, if the RPM's are just right, it'll go to shift but stick in neutral, causing the engine to redline (with no power being sent to the wheels, this is what makes me assume it's sticking in neutral). I'll have to screw around with the gas/brake pedals to trick the transmission into shifting again to bring it back home. Doesn't happen a lot, but at least once every 2 days or so, sometimes multiple times in a day. Very intermittent.

Not very happy that I have a powertrain problem with less than 2000 miles on my truck.

Anyways, has anyone had a similar issue? What did it turn out to be?



EDIT: apparently the correct term for it is slipping and not sticking...

 

Appointment is at 2pm. Maybe I can get the TSB done on it while I am there.

Maybe the TSB will help.

 

Ugh. Frustration. Drove around with the mechanic for about 20 minutes and couldn't get it to slip while I was driving it. Told him it's happening at least every other day, but it isn't very often only made him tell me it was an "unusual complaint" and that "hopefully it will get worse so you can show it to us because we can't fix it otherwise"

So here's to hoping my transmission explodes.

 

Mine has a slipping sensation also almost like it clutches it's way into a gear. Very odd and I have lived with it for 3k miles. It goes in tomorrow and I am not very happy about it

 

Let me know what they tell you, if we have similar problems it may help me get to the bottom of getting my stuff fixed.

 

That was my first though to... TBH I'm surprised the stealer didn't at least check that while you were there.

 

That would be so easy to check IF the thing had a dipstick. Bad design IMO. we all have better things to do than run to the dealership 24/7 for a check on something that up until now has been rather easy to do yourself.
