At one point, I had two Ford Couriers, '73 and a '74 My old one developed a rod knock, found another in nice shape. Drove it for two months until someone who had lost their brakes on a Forest Circus road ran into the side, ruining the drivers side door, bed and breaking the leaf springs which then pulled the drive line out of the tranny. I kept the salvage, got the other parties insurance to pay me over $1,000 for the truck, I paid $600, asked them if not willing to find another truck, to give me what the replacement value was. I had to show the adjuster where the accident was as the other party lied and said I was in the middle of the road, they had filed a report with the CA Hiway Patrol, so I filed my own. What saved me I believe, was the area the transmission oil soaked into, on the side of the road not the middle. What I was getting to, I took that motor out and put it in the rust bucket, older Courier I had and drove the old truck for a few more years. After sitting in my front yard for two years, I had the wrecked truck towed finally. You always think "you might need that part sometime".

All went well no issues and there was a small breeze (thanks Susan). $225 literally down the drain. ;)

Me and the wife were able to get away for a few hours and went to the movies. Saw "Hillary's America" great movie / documentary, would recommend it if your interested in the history of that political party. Thought I knew a lot but I learned even more.

    Evening all:
The moving wall is in our town, haven't stopped yet but should check it out just out of respect for those whose names are on it.

Saw the wall about 15 years ago in D.C. While reviewing the names I ran across my first and last name including unusual spelling of my last name. The middle initial was different.

On July 4th the traveling wall was at Battleship Park here in Mobile, Alabama. My wife and I were looking for the name again when the Commander of a new LCS combat ship built here offered to help me. I gave him the name and learned that he was from Columbus, Ohio and was KIA on Feb. 2, 1968.

Very strange feeling to have grown up during that time and seeing your name although with a different middle initial on the wall. I can assure you it puts you in touch with your mortality.

    Morning all:
Just thinking, heat and hotheads may not mix! Will be watching the other fiasco going on about 80 mi. south of me! :D
For sure, don't want to be anywhere near there!!!!

HUMMM, went to stop at the wall and they had it packed up already. It said it would be there on the 25th but looks like they didn't mean all day!

Spent the weekend on Maui with my golf buddies. Had to dodge that damn Tropical Storm Darby on Saturday & Sunday. It drizzled during the whole front nine on Sat, but by afternoon it was sunny. On Sunday, they closed the course we were supposed to play at so being the diehards that we are, found another course. No rain at all, the storm had already passed. Friday was brutal, we played the Plantation Couse at Kapalua, and it was very windy. I refuse to disclose what my score was.
Came home to Oahu, and right into the heart of the storm! Hell of a lot of H2O.

Went up to Binghamton NY today with an old buddy to look at a boat, he ended up buying it. Nice trip and a break from the routine!
It's the same boat as my 17' StarCraft SFM, now maybe he will stop bugging me to buy mine! :D

 S/W/S. Heat wave broke here, sort of. At least it finally rained. I've been holding off on heavy duty outdoor chores due to the heat, but it looks like I'm going to have suck it up and get out there.
    It's a tough life, cheech, a tough life. :p
There's no replacement for displacement.

I specifically said that I would not reveal my scores...BUT, since you are a nice person, Friday, a brutal 105, Sat. didn't keep score because the scorecards were soaking wet, but I broke 100. Sunday was better, shot 86.

And yeah Dave, it is a tough life. Golf is hard.

As long as you are happy with your score, that's all that matters.

Our heat wave is here for another week give or take a day or two... :annoyed: so ready for even 90* temps. Back to normal!!!!
