This is actually a 3rd gen. I ended up here by looking for a new method of cleaning the undercarriage

That's what multi quote is for! You can basically set it aside, and when you're all caught up, insert the posts you want to quote. Much more convenient.

About to roll 30k this week, so I need to pick up stuff for my 30k service this weekend. Only question I have is this...

I saw on here a few of the tutorials on changing front/rear diff and transfer case fluid with 75w90 gear oil. Just check my owners manual and it calls for 75w85 in the diffs and 75w90 in the transfer case, does it matter that much? I know 75w85 is gonna be a bitch to find. Thanks in advance!

Dropped its shell in the garage to have it color match tomorrow. Feels so weird to drive it without the shell! I also missed the look without but it is so useful!

I'm running 75w90 in my rear diff and haven't had any problems yet. I changed it about 5k miles ago with royal purple synthetic

75w90 is fine. Using a quality oil is more important than 5w.

I really ain't in a hurry either, like you said, he's a busy man and I realize that. If I have or had to wait until the next mailing I would have been ok with that. If I really wanted a tacomaworld.com sticker that bad I would just find a place that could make me one. The best part of waiting is that I'm getting mine color matched to my truck (LOL).

I actually mounted them with self tapping screws. Didn't take but a few minutes to mount.

    I don't think you'll want 886- that's a stiff ride.

hs was talking 887's with strut set at zero and ride wouldn't be bad plus a preperation for perhaps a bumper in the future

So funny story. I had to change wheel bearings on my 05 Toyota prerunner. Mundane task but requires 50 ton press and I only have 12 ton. So I buy bearings, seals, lock nut and etc. Everything but the hub because unlike the 4wd version prerunner hubs are dealer only so assembly with bearings Pressed is close to 550 for a pair here on one of the vendors links, but i really dont need new hubs. Anywho. Borrow a car for the day, take hubs to a shop, ask them to reuse the o'rings, 90 bucks later after work I pick em up. I rush home, get everything done in an hour right as it starts raining. Alas, right on time.

Next morning I get a call from the shop informing me they scewed up and forgot one oring.... I simply forgot to check BOTH hub assemblies, I saw one oring and ASSUMED hey, they are good to go, these guys are professionals.....
Needless to say, taking of work early yet again, rush to get the oring, got home AND.... Dilemma. It's a 50 50 chance of which hub has it missing.... lets gamble. So I chose right because right was still making noise due to tire slightly off balance. WRONG, LOSER, it had a o'ring, wrong side asshole. Do not pass go, do not collect 250.

    MoraleS of the story
If you want something done do it yourself(twice), check. Double check other people's work, check. Double check your own work, check. Cheap always WORKS twice (in this case), check.

At least the truck is ready for some sweet ass jumps and long travel.

No VAT which chops 18,000 off the price, puts me in with a heap of upgrades right at 52,000 USD due to locking the price in when the Australian dollar was 0.76 to the US dollar. Shipping I'm suprised to say is actually free. I just need to hire a carrier to bring it to me from the Port of Los Angeles.

When pricing everything remember that the listed prices are in Australian dollars and need to be converted.

Put the Redarc Tow Pro Elite trailer brake controller in tonight. Once installed all that is visible is the control knob/button. Swapped the small map light bulbs out in the overhead console for some new LED bulbs as well.
