I'm always impressed with how many miles guys are getting out of these first gen clutches, I've only got 30k on mine right now so I guess I have a long time to go lol. My last car (Scion tC) had the clutch go out at 90k.

I've heard good things about the URD clutches/flywheels. Might even be a good idea to replace the throwout bearing as well while you're in there.

I also haul alot and use this truck in the rocks and trails

I'd go back with the brand you're removing seeing you got 190k out of it. Luk is a good brand.

I have 206k on my original clutch. Time to start thinking about replacing it.

I always think to myself - I've gotten 206k on this one, why go with anything else but OEM?

Same thoughts here. I don't need to replace mine yet, but when I do, I'll probably go with OEM. I plan on only replacing my clutch once unless my truck lasts absurdly long.

Why weighted? I am sure it would smooth the motor out, but it would weaken throttle response. .

Rockauto has good prices on clutches including aisin which toyota uses alot for oem stuff. I went with a luk kit and new luk flywheel when I did mine a year ago and so far so good. I see no point in putting a $3-400 "performance" clutch behind these low power motors, when I've had $100 part store clutches hold up fine behind 350 hp v8s.

When you were researching what clutch you were going to install, did you happen to come across the stock pressure plate clamping force?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm looking for something new as well. The old stock clutch is slipping now with the turbo set up. I've read of people using an Aisin Pressure Plate for a 5vz mated with a disk for the 3rz and it being able to hold about 350 ft lbs. I can't find any sure data on this, though, just theoretical calculations. So I'm thinking about using an ACT Plate for a 5vz.
