stopped at a gym that is usually red (and I usually get my tail handed to me cuz there are 3 or 4 on it) on my way to work this morning and noticed it was blue so I went to train there and noticed there was 5 on it already and the prestige was only a few thousand away... long story short there are now 6 on it and it will take a pretty large group of non team bluers to over throw it.

How do you add one of your Pokemon to a gym that is already your teams?

Is it a busy/popular gym? I've seen a lvl 9 get built up and destroyed within an hour.

If there's an available spot an add button will show bottom left while you're in the gym. High level has more spots available.

When you click on the gym, there'll be an icon to the left you can click.

If there isn't one, click the one on the right to train at your gym. If you're victorious, it'll help bring up the level of the gym so you can add your pokemans.

This is downtown Houston, so there's a lot of people about.

Usually in the neighborhoods, 4 will be an average level for gyms. Unless it's a fancy neighborhood with a lot of restaurants/bars around.

I put my Venusaur on a gym that was at an intersection and only way to battle it was to pull off. It was only a lvl 3 and mine was the top. It lasted about 10 hours. Also put my snorlax on a gym that I took over but talked to a guy who was yellow when I was leaving and he was going to take it so I quickly collected my coin

I was able to drop off my pokemon at the gyms and collect the coin before other teams wanted to come out for the action. :woot:

I've seen that near my work as well. There is a blue gym that mainly holds it down and they got it to level 9 and lost it but they always get it back

To add, if you train a gym you can get 500 prestige points (if you beat all pokemon) towards leveling it up so it may take a few times if the gym is a few thousand away from leveling up

I was getting +500 (+/- a few points) and only beating the 1st pokemon everytime I just had to train like 6 times to get it to the next level

So each pokemon is unique. Even though they're high cp it doesn't necessarily mean they're strong. Lookup pokemon iv calculator
