how was your mpg affected with the 285s? I'm still trying to decide on what tire combo to go with

I really haven't kept too much track of that. I assume maybe 1 or 2 mpg. My dash reads 18.5 in the city. I just drive and enjoy. Worrying about all that takes the fun out of it. Jmo..

trust me, I understand, I have a built motor/trans car, just curious because this is a DD for my wife, so it does mean a little to me. I got her convinced to mod her truck, I don't want to completely ruin her the first time around. I was worried about too poor of mpg and rubbing with 285. 275 I can't find in the st maxx. 255 seems too narrow, I know it gets recommended and used a lot, I prefer that wider stance personally.

285/70 17s look dope with the right back spacing my 15 had the perfect stance. Only issue is be prepared for your rocker panels to take a beating with paint chips

As soon as we find a shop to have the lift installed I will partake in a GTG. Tandem Auto will be busy the week that we are shooting to have it installed.

nope, not doing it myself this time around, I don't have the time or desire with my work schedule. I am doing my car, and that's it. Her truck will be done at a shop.

275 was more expensive than the 285. You could stick with a 265 or 275 and save some weight. If you're keeping the stock rims, add a spacer for the stance you want. That is what I did. Although, aftermarket rims tend to be lighter than OEM, so you can shave some weight there too. I have always had balance issues with aftermarket wheels and have never had any issues with OEM. My truck tracks straight, no steering wheel shake and no seat shake. I just choose not to worry about the mileage. I'm sure it will be affected a little, but at the end of the day, it's a truck. I'm just want to enjoy it. I also understand it's important to some people too. Just keep the weight down, and I think you will be fine. Hope that helps.

Fatlip Customs in Haltom City. They have done both of my Toyotas, and I have no complaints. Prices are great too.

Looks Awesome. Would it have rub if you weren't running spacers? I wanted to go 285s but was afraid it would rub since I don't want to run spacers. Im running 275s KO2 and no rub w/o spacers

Nothing but smooth. No vibs at all.
Not to sure. I wasn't there when they did it all. I dropped it off, went and played golf (got a little drunk then took a nap at a buddy's) then went and picked it up. I wanted the spacer in to get the tire a little outside the fender flare. Turned out perfect.
