passenger doors keyed/knifed

So livid. I'm guessing neighborhood teens or some jealous idiot. Two foot long scratches on both passenger doors. Classic pattern of a casual walk by. I'll post some pics later. Never had something like this. All scratches on my previous vehicles were mostly self inflicted or accidents. Hoping I can find a decent shop to fix this that won't leave swirl marks on my doors.

 

Damn that sucks. F'in people.....you work hard, take care of your stuff and then some dumbass loser does something like this....

 

feel for you, someone targeted me in my neighborhood over the last year, have no idea why or who but there were many mornings of rage.

someone would key one door at a time, then the tail gate, and to top it off they did each side as a whole. there are about 8 separate incidents all together. I have plenty of pinstripes from trees but the key marks drive me Fing crazy. Moving out of the city in a couple of weeks, so i'll be looking to get repair quotes soon.

wait until you decide to clean the truck up on a nice weekend and you're staring at scratches. hope you catch the asshole

 

I think there needs to be a dislike button. That's horrible man.

 

You know that camera mount on the windshield can be used to ahem... put a camera on it to take pics of people that get too close to your truck right? Not trying to be an ass here but we live in a big city and as the old saying goes, ounce of prevention # of cure.

Even having the camera there without it being active is enough ... then of course you risk getting window broken. But that's easier to fix than a keyed truck. I worry more about our house. I installed cams outside that start with movement in the camera field and my truck is in the field of vision. I can watch the cam from my cell phone or laptop anywhere there's internet and get notified when the cam is active.

There's trolls in real world too.. they see the cams and move on.

It eats me up. I'll get it repaired. I've been investigating security cam scenarios for a while. Leaving for vaca on Saturday, and will be implementing a camara setup (house/vehicles) when we get back. Sooo pissed I didn't do it sooner.

 

It's a good way to go - my setup is wifi so no wires. As soon as it was set up - no more issues! Imagine that.

Sorry to hear, i know that feeling all too well when my month old tacoma and roommate's wrx got wrecked by what i thought was a punk kid's key or something. In my situation it was actually a turkey in heat so i couldnt even exact my revenge. Good luck if you choose to repair, hope they bring it back to new

 

I wondered why they look at my shiny black truck as I drive by them along the road. Had one that stood on the white line and I actually had to slow down when I got up to him. Best to slow down than one fly across the highway and bust your windshield. I have have seen that happen.

 

based on where the damage was and timing(plus i caught the bastard tom red handed attacking neighbors car) it was seeing its reflection in the flattest part of my truck and roommate's wrx and was defending his territory against a non existent threat. it would be a funny story if it didnt happen to my truck when it was new. reason #27 to let truck stay dirty i guess

 

Wow. That's crazy. Turkeys? Was it in heat, or possibly cackling at itself and fighting it's own reflection?

 

We used to have turkeys roaming around outside of my old office very frequently and sometimes they would attack the doors and windows when they saw their reflection. I don't work there anymore but I think the turkeys still roam the grounds.

 

Not trying to derail but it was 100000% a big male turkey in heat. After spending hours buffing i went inside to wash out bucket and caught the damn thing red handed attacking the heck out of the car right next to my truck. Pecking and jump/flying spur attack. Never saw something like it
