I was at the dealer on Saturday (7/23/2016) and they had great deals on the few 2016s they had on the floor. They told me they want to make room for the 2017s arriving in August.
(It was a salesman though, so I take that with a grain of salt)

any date is speculation right now; but they're for sale is today -- if you leave a deposit conditional on final pricing and option sheets. you can even leave a deposit on the first 2025 model is you like! :dancingbacon:

but sept oct is the general timeframe for them landing on lots.

My guess is September. I live in GA and check the Southeast Toyota inventory website a good bit. They post trucks that are on their way to various SE Toyota dealerships and their availability date. Right now, there's only 2016s on their website and the last date of availability on their website is August 25th. It's possible that the website only shows what's on the way for a month in advance but I think I remember seeing the same last availability date when I looked in June.

I can't buy anything until August 18th anyways, but I would really like to know a specific date so I know how long I will be without a vehicle after I sell mine.

If you have a product number, the dealers should have their allotment sheets in the beginning of August. You can check and get approximate dates. This site had the new numbers for the 16's as they changed from previous years. Dealers did not have a clue until I gave them the number.

I put a deposit on a '17 yesterday. Build date is 8/17, and dealer said should arrive in September.

Mine had a build date of 8/23 last year. Actual build was 9/10. Arrived 9/18. They delayed release to get rid of all the 15's. Probably better regulated this year.

    Sam B,
How can one obtain a product number? Can you explain the last two sentence of your response?

    Thank you

Will there be any significant changes from the 2016's?

Not much but couple of things to note... the 17 autos might come with the updated shift point mapping. The 17 manual transmissions might have the fix for the hard shifting after cruising for a long time. And last but not least the 17 TRD OR's might get the black bezel headlights from the TRD Pro.

Definitely worth waiting in my opinion.

Sorry for the confusion.. I am referring to the Model #. Last summer someone found the new model # for the 16 tacomas. It changed from previous years. In the case of a DCSB TRD Sport 2wd the model # is 7148A. SO I went in early August to the dealer(actually 2 different dealers) and their allocation list did not show any 16 Tacomas. I gave them the new model # and a new list popped up and showed all the 16's coming it and build dates. I was looking for a Barcelona Red and at the second dealer saw the listing for a DCLB and put money down on it. More than likely the only new Model # this year will be for the TRD Pro. So you should not have any trouble finding the model #. What are you looking for?

Most of the colors.. i.e. black, white, silver, MGM and Barcelona Red. Not sure on Quicksand or Blue. Cement is the new color introduced on the Pro's(also comes in white and Barcelona Red). Also have to wait and see on the Inferno.

I'm looking for a Model 7544 TRD Off Road DCSB 4x4. I will call the dealers around my area to see if they have an allocation list for 2017 as you mentioned above. If I can't get a 2017, I guess I'll probably just settle for 2016 if I can get it down a few grand.

My searches on the 2016 has shown mostly Long Beds Model 7568. Is everyone buying the Short Bed Model 7544 or is there a shortage building those from Toyota?

Long beds are hard to park and don't offroad as well. Also you can fit anything in the short bed with bed extender (a cheap mod) that you can fit in the long bed. Now let's get this LB vs SB debate going!!!!:fistbump::rofl: @TacoJonn

I have an Inferno TRD OR DCSB on order that is 2017. Was told it would be available sometime in mid September. Had actually ordered a 2016, but they said they couldn't get it but could get me the 2017.
