They do make these air mattresses for truck beds with cutouts for the wheel well.

I don't know if they make it for the short bed but Id be surprised if they didn't

I like this but I'm 6ft. It would need to go over the tailgate.

I wonder if the long bed mattress would fit in the short bed with the gate down. Ya know what I'm saying, where is the extra length located in the bed? In front of the wheels or behind it? you could probably buy the long bed one and put it in backwards so it will still fit over the wheels. Idk but I'm curious to know if that would work now cause I've wanted one of these for a while and I'm also over 6 ft tall but i have a long bed.

It's less than $100.00 for hammock and tarp. Hammock is a Eagle Outdoors, I forget the tarp brand. I've made all the tree huggers, whoopie slings and ridge and guy lines my self.

I just looked at that thing for a friends truck. Best I can tell, it's only made for the LB.

image.jpg Go on eBay and look up Rightline Gear. There is a 5ft bed tent for $85 .. Bought it and installed it on ours. I just need to figure out a solution for the first 12".

I like what you did there! I personally don't want to run a shell so I sorta got to thinking if you had a roof rack on your cab you could mount an awning on the back of the rack and slide it out over the bed for quick and easy rain cover. Obviously this is for the open air people without doing anything on the sides but hell if the weather is right that would be awesome.

Lord no!! I'm in the Deep South, our skeeters wear Red Cross arm bands they take so much blood. Net is not shown. Was really just trying different setups.

Picking up my DCSB on Friday, and looking at options as well. Has anyone seen what kind of room you may have diagonally? Napkin math says 82in or so in diagonal length, but I'd assume a good chunk of that isn't usable.

If you get a bed tent, make sure you get one that fills the full bed. If/when it rains, bed tents are designed to shed the water over the sides of the bed - they overlap the sides by 2-5", which keeps the bed dry and the bottom of your tent dry. Any empty space in your bed becomes a pond. Here's my Napier on a Gen1. Setup and teardown, including the truck bedz air matress, our double sleeping bag, comforter, and pillows is about 10min (with two people).

The one downside is what was mentioned earlier on the thread by @KB Voodoo - it sort of holds your truck hostage once it's setup. That's something that is true of a setup RTT too though (sleeping bags, pillows, etc.), unless you have it on a trailer.
