What's a CVJ?

 

yes you can run extended travel with them alot of people dont like them cause of quality reasons. i havent owned a set of them but idk if they fixed the problems or not. but some people say there good and others say the opposite. i think they'll do well for normal trail running. just dont expect to do the baja 1000 or rubicon lol

 

Look into CVJ. They remanufacture OEM CVs and can make them with high-angle silicone boots for lifted applications.

 

They are a company in the Denver area that reworks OEM Tacoma axles. Pretty reputable. They do quality work.

Would it be better to go with the off-road or just the plan rebuilt Cv

 

They pretty much just look like longer stock ones, but maybe i haven't really looked that hard.

if you are on a budget allpro makes uniball uca's there the cheapest ones to my knowledge

The ones in the off-road category are for racing I think. Most of us don't need that.

I went with their regular remans but I did upgrade to the orange inner boot. That is the one vulnerable for tearing.

Why are you looking to replace your CVs?

wrt CVs, I'd much prefer the relatively inexpensive and easy to replace CV to be the "weak spot" in the front axle than something further down the line.

 

Interesting that it wouldn't fit. That is a pain. Which model Pioneer did you get. As you kno, I really like mine.

I see why you asked that now that I look at the website. I guess you could say I went with the 'offroad' ones but I'm pretty sure mine are nothing special except for the boot upgrade.

Yeah, that is the one I used.

 

Do you know what it is referring too when it asks if the vehicle has a pocket under the stock stereo or not, I assume no, I just don't want to order the wrong one..

 

In our trucks it doesn't matter. Does yours have a little storage thingy directly under the stereo.
