I only use regular pokeballs on zubats and golbats. Don't even bother with razzs. After 3 attempts, I just run away.

I've got a pretty good record of hitting them on the first attempt.

 

Zubats I'm good with, but this Golbat was a pesky bitch. I usually run away but it got personal after I gave him so many of my berries...

oh and you I don't think you can switch back to pokemon but I haven't tried that yet so you should confirm

haha...That was my first go at a gym and my Vapoo crushed it so I didn't get to experience the whole process

Check out the pokemon, then look at their weaknesses. And also strengths. It'll help a lot in determining who you send in.

 

I have so many of those in Blue on gameboy, it's not even funny.

 

I stopped playing after a week or so but my wife is still going strong. She just hit level 18 this morning, apparently. Runs the gym by our house, and the one by her work.

She should work more, I think. She sent me a screenshot of her catching a weedle on her boss's face in a meeting.
