    Hey there...
My 05 has run great till about 2 weeks ago. It started getting hot, I stopped and the coolant res. Was empty. Filled it up and no problem. 1 week later same thing. Another week later I start overheating and check the res and it full to the brim.... with air bubbles flowing up from the bottom. I waited about 15min and it went back in... ran fine... then, same thing this morning.... I'm at a loss...

Possible head gasket failure .. first thing that comes to mind. No power loss? Truck runs fine, just overheating?

If it was the head gasket wouldn't it'd be constantly overheating instead of once in a while letting it cool down and let the coolant sheep back into the radiator and run fine for a while until I stop shut the truck off and start again then it overheats.

When was the last time you serviced the cooling system? Replaced the water pump, tstat, or even the radiator cap? Hoses? Miles now and miles when serviced?

The test @Lester Lugnut recommends above is cheap and easy. Why not do that and either eliminate or confirm the worst possibility?

How many miles? Bet it's time for a new water pump. You probably have a leak at the water pump

Just had the same thing happen to my 06 i hit 200000 and bubbles in 8n the overflow

    So i put a
    waterpump
    Thermostat
    Serp belt
    And coolant flush

    And no more overheating

I put 70 psi in each cylinder head and brought the piston to top dead center
No bubbles in the cool8ng system

So I pulled the radiator out. Pretty good size leak... I was blind to it, I have no clue how.
Putting a new one in tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.
And if anyone has any tips or tricks to putting the coolant back in, it would be appreciated. Thanks ks again for all the help!!

The system is supposed to be sealed, so if you have a leak in the radiator.......

Is there a hose in that area? If so is the clamp loose or hose deteriorated or radiator leaking?
