So, I was browsing ToyotaNation regarding the '09 Tacos and noticed that (aparrently), you can't get matching color keyed, exterior door handles anymore.

Is that true, or am I missing something? All of the pictures I've seen of the '09s have the black handles, regardless of paint color.

If true, is there any after-market handle (that's of good quality) that you can get for the Taco?

IMO, black handles w/ any other color looks kinda, ugly.

I have seen a couple pics only of the 09s, they were both sports and both had the color keyed handles. you must be looking at non sport models..

So, if that's the case, I would assume that they only come with Sport models.

Would there be a way you could get the handles, even you didn't get a sport model?

You could either Swap them from a sport model or buy aftermarket handle covers (i believe they only come in chrome, i guess you could really paint them if you wanted too)

If you got them painted, I assume a detailer could do it so it actually looks kosher, and not like you dabbed paint on 'em from a can from Home Depot. How much would this run someone? (Not too much, I would think, considering it's only the handles.)

I'm sitting here wondering if I should give my opinion on what I think is gay...

Yes, you can swap the handles.

The handles should be the same on every 05+, including the 2009's, so here y'all go:

Sure, why not? That seems to be the "in" thing, what all the cool kids are doing these days.

You're saying that about half the trucks on the forum look "gay". Maybe think about that. I'm not offended, just pointing out your lack of respect for others. But that's cool, I am in fact, King Dingaling.

Whoa there buddy, calm down. Firstly, f you're going to go off on me for having an opinion, at least have the decency to not change my usage of words. I said ugly. Not gay.

Secondly, I could care less whether someone's offended by my opinions in taste. They're my opinions. This is America, and a public forum. As long as what I say doesn't break any laws, rules or regulations, I'll say whatever the hell I please.

I've seen many a thread on here (and other forums) in which someone's said something that I like looks "gay", "ugly" or whatever. Does that offend me? No. I'm not offended by what someone thinks. That's their opinion, and I'm damn glad they've got one, because then, we'd all be the same. If you or anyone else takes offense when someone publically voices a dislike about something that you fancy, you really, really need a thicker skin.

Oh my GOSH! I'm so offended by your opinion... You didn't say all handle colors win. That's being unfair and biased.... oh, wait.

Phoenix, Wilson...both of you settle down. Either report the offensive post to the mods, or take it to your individual PM's. As a third party, I think one or both of you doesn't understand what one or the other is saying. PM each other, kiss, and make up.

    getting there....
i agree.......i like the black door handles..........but with that being said, some dont. if you want them to match.........and it will probably be the easiest thing to do, get the closest color to match and get some adhesion promoter for plastic. you can do a very light sanding if you want, then clean the handles with lacquer thinner, then add the adhesion promoter and then paint them. like i said......probably the easiest way to go. you could probably get the color match ones from a dealer(as they will cost alot) or maybe you can find some on ebay.
