Today is the day....

I start the countdown for delivery on my 2017 Quicksand, DCLB, TRDOR. I finally pulled the trigger with one of the coolest dealers I have ever worked with. They requested the allocation today and it looks like I will have to wait ~1 month to get final pricing details and allocation confirmation. They refused my deposit until we could get a confirmation on the allocation. I guess the regional inventory specialist likes to batch these request every month rather than on a as received basis. After the first month, I guess a V.I.N. or production schedule gets assigned and I will be on the wait list for another 60-90 days. Realistic expectation is mid November. I ordered my truck with premium tech/ JBL, tow package, power locking tailgate and the tonneau cover. I am hoping to keep this thread updated with tracking progress.

 

Power locking tailgate is an option on the 2017? Wish it would have been available on the 2016

I'll be looking to get the remote lock added to my 16 when the oem part is in the sku

 

I guess it is a port installed option and not a factory option.

I got an update yesterday that my allocation was accepted Monday. I guess my timeline from here is 10-12 weeks. Now the wait is really on.

 

Should have been an option from the start.IMO

 

So now my parts list from the 2017 will include: power locking tailgate, power rear sliding window, a/t TRD shift knob. My wallet hates me already

 

Congrats! I am jealous - power locking tailgate and rear window are the two features I was missing... Like everyone else.

Not to hijack a thread, but how hard do you think it would be to install the power rear window on a 2016? Would the dealer do it?

Not sure what this means; you "pulled the trigger" but you don't know pricing, dealer refused down payment, etc. What exactly does that men? You have first dibs on a specific dealer order?

I have ordered specific cars in the past, but price negotiations & sales contracts are done before anything is signed. What if the dealer want's $5k over sticker once the thing shows up?

I just finalized my deal today with David Maus in Sanford, Florida. My guy was James Brown and he was awesome! Production is scheduled for October 28th and delivery is scheduled for November 18th. So here we are on the 18th of November. Truck was supposed to be delivered to the dealer today but it looks like I will be lucky if it is here by Wednesday. The truck is assembled and port options are supposed to be installed. Just waiting on carrier pick up. Is there any way I can track the progress with the V.I.N.?
