came home from work..cracked a beer...headed to the garage for some work in there....and my whole damn side yard was a small half frozen river. what the hell???? followed the water to the door to the crawlspace..took it off, and low and behold.....water was standing 8 inches deep.....and gushing like a geyser outta a valve that was busted....even had water running outta the door over my boots. after 6 phone calls to plumbers who couldnt/wouldnt come out....i found some that were here in 30 minutes. new valve and piece of pipe, and $117.50 later(which was a damned good price)........it was fixed. then...the other shitty part....over 400 gallons of water were standing under the house. luckily....i had my submersible pump and hose, and had it all evacuated out in about 45 minutes or so.

yeah...it wasnt fun..........but i almost found out what that pipe line was for. i think anyway.

yeah..called them today and they said to do that very thing.

 

Yeah, that would ruin your night. But to have it repaired for that much $$$ not a bad deal. Not something you could fix?

 

$117.50, you did real good there. Did the valve freeze up on you? Not really the best way to spend the evening, but no long term damage I hope?
