Maybe we should clarify, 2.0s are fine for slow crawl

The stock shackle is 4" right? Sounds like he has a 4.5" shackle. If memory serves me correct I have a TC 4.5" greasable shackle out back. It's been a couple of years since I set up the rear so I would have to go measure.

I didnt think anyone made 4.5.

OEM is 4" , I run a 5" XJ shackle from Rubicon express.

would the bypasses be worth the work for relocated upper and lower or should i just throw some valved 2.5 replacements in the rear?

Daily driver 80% of the month, fire roads and exploring the rest with a few pismo trips in between. Fronts just a solid mid travel set up, which makes me think to just throw 2.5 replacements in the rear instead of dealing with relocates.

I dont know man, you seem to like the gofast. Think you need to do some serious thinking and just bite the bullet once more.

Well mine are a couple of years old. Their store link is empty so yeah I am thinking they are gone. Hell the person that made my shackle flip is gone too.

Also curiosity got the best of me so I went out and measured my eye to eye on the shackles. They are 4". So that perplexed me. Just so happens I still have my stock shackles in a drawer. They measure eye to eye at 3.5"s.

my thing is bypasses would be badass, steak sauce. But if i went as far as bypasses i should go LT and thats too deep for my current life needs lol. I may just get the replacements and have them valved.

Yeah I would think the 2.5's would be good for the 4th gen rears. We have one here and I am slowly building it up. I am following jberry's soccer mom build now to see how it progresses.

If there are off the shelf sizes that will fit in the current location then go for it. I have 2.5's in the back of my taco now and love them but I had to have ICON build them because I didn't want to do a relocate. Don't ask me why, it's just what i decided to do. Cost wise though, not worth it at full retail. But I got a bit of a hook up so it made the decision a bit more palatable.

im absolutely outperforming my 2.0s in the rear now, i need to upgrade to 2.5s and valve them for a lighter back end with less harsh rebound.

Weve got the application in at King for Avid Offroad vendor. Hopefully that goes through and would be a good compliment to the Total Chaos one we have.

@LTDSC Sam I already told you to do a shock tower replacement and adjust the lower mounts a little, I'm betting you can stuff a 10" bypass in there without having the lower shock mount hang down too much.

Yeah a 10" would be awesome for you, would probably put the lower mount just barely below the middle of the axle.

and i can give them to chance with these pics and have him call me when its done. Also having them backwards has a little font impact protection with the brace mount in front.
