Isn't it mostly just a few rather whiney people making most of the Ruckus?

I'd prolly wait for the 2027's (<--not a typo) to come out, I heard rumors of forced induction 1.8 liter v8's.

Seriously though, yeah, I'd do it again. My 16 is the nicest, quietest, smoothest, best looking vehicle I've owned thus far.

Would easily buy again. Don't let the few be the voice of the many. Most of the people that would show up here are ones that have problems and are looking for answers and/or to bitch. If as many people had problems as you would be led to believe, Toyota would be sued and have mass recalls by now.

Maybe... but I never have seen so many complaints on a forum for a new truck in the past. If you go to other vehicle forums they have maybe three or four "issue" threads on the first page. For the Third Gen it seems there are at least 9 or 10 on any given day.

Also check out the poll here, look at the number of folks experiencing sounds that have been attributed to premature wear of the rear differential assembly. Many have already had them replaced and now the sounds are coming back again on the new differentials.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/poll-rear-end-noise-howling-when-feathering-throttle.442341/

Maybe Tacoma owners are just exceptionally picky. Well shouldn't they be for a $40K truck? You decide.

Some days I wish I had a full size, but typically those aren't days I have to fit into a small parking spot or refuel. :kona:

I am still very happy with this truck and have come to realize that I'm a lot more "me" with one. Trucks rock. Tacoma's especially.

Doubt it my brother has a 3RD gen,he isnt on a forum bitching about his tranny issues and wind noise issues..In your mind why is someone that spends 35K +on a vehicle and has issues" whiney" when they go on a forum and discuss the issue......?....If you had issues would you be whiney?...Stupid comment on your part..

Some (not All) of The folks that have no issues tend to be extremely dismissive of those with issues. Also you do have a fanboy defensiveness factor at play here....brand loyalists. Not a surprise though because this is an Enthusiast forum. Both sides have some valid points; somewhere in the middle is usually where the truth remains.

    Yes.
I have no problems so far. 1700 miles. I LOVE this truck. The 6 speed auto does shift a lot but it has many gears :)
Although I went from a 1997 T100 2X4 to a Limited double cab 2X4 so I should be happy. I am still very impressed. I still have my T100 with 321000 miles.

    I'll say yes, buuuut....
If I have issues (like no brakes, has to be a big issue though)with mine I might trade for a"Chrysler" 1500 3.0 diesel. Always wanted diesel but hate Chrysler. :crapstorm:

Edit: NEVER MIND ebout ram diesel. Just went through the ram forum only first two to three pages..... If you, 16 Tacoma owners thinking that you have aproblems, go read ram 1500 eco diesel forum...

Yes, but I'd probably buy a LB instead of SB if I could do it over.
