I'd go speakers since you already started upgrading your sound system.

Plus, for me, I'd rather have awesome sound (since the radios almost always on) than have a 1/2" shorter shift. I'm not in a race truck, shifting .25 seconds faster doesnt really do anything for me.

I would have to go with a system. I just put some rockford fosgates 6.5 components in, deff. not a simple install had to trim some on the mounting adaptor and a few other things, not to mention the window guide is right in the way. But they do sound 100x better if you run them off an amp. That and a sub and you want regret it. Actualy when you start to mess with audio stuff its hard to stop.

I 100% agree with that statement its like an addiction i got a set of type r alpine speakers to replace the stock ones... then relized i needed more thud, ended up throwing in an amp, sub, and components and it kicks ass i love it and my taco.. and for my .02 i would go alpine thats all i use; H/U components, sub and amp and have never been happier with the sound system it bumps my reg. cab.

i just looked on sonicelectronix and wow that place is cheap! At the local car stereo place i was looking at $100 a pair for the Alpine S types plus $35 dollars for install per pair but on there they are only $60 a pair and the R types are $90 a pair, even with shipping i would only be paying an extra 14 bucks overall to get the much better R types
