Don't mind the mess in the background of a few of the pictures; I get slab wood to cut up for the wood stove, and I haven't gotten around to cutting it all.

Took delivery with 2 miles on the odometer:

I'm not the best person to ask considering my experience so far...

On day 3 of ownership (picked up Sat, this story is Mon), I stopped at a gas station and picked up a few tall-boy (24 oz) beer cans. I work IT, so because of my job, I carry a backpack that sits on my passenger seat which has a laptop that I can VPN into if needed. I have always put the cans into the backpack, but someone parked so close to my passenger side that I couldn't open my door. I was only 3 miles from home, so I figured it wouldn't be an issue, and set the bag on my passenger seat.

Unfortunately, I was wrong; I had to do an emergency brake to avoid automotive buttsex with a car that cut me off (apparently, a big orange truck is invisible to other drivers). That emergency brake procedure caused the can to fall onto the floor mat. The can was punctured and resulted in beer spraying all over the interior of my cabin.

While the floor mat did a good job containing the beer, it took multiple days and multiple applications of Febreze / Carpet Cleaner to get the smell out. Maybe if I had gone with the carpet version, that can wouldn't have punctured.

Husband had a similar experience in his 4Runner but with tall craft beer in glass bottles and carpet mats. Made a helluva mess, brown beer stains and several washing a to get both the stain and the odor out.
Don't know if there's ever a right answer carpet vs rubber mat...

    FWIW...

I've had the issue of beer cans falling on the footwell on the Subaru (due to cornering speed), and the carpet floor mats never punctured a can. I started using my backpack to hold tall-boys as a result of my experience.

Bottled beer has always been placed on the passenger-side floor, so even if it tipped over, it wouldn't break the glass.

In my opinion it is always worth it to have all weather rubber mats. carpet just never does the trick for me. I always have dirty shoes and it's really convenient to be able to just spray them off with the hose and not worry about a thing.

Any pics? I would have put that thing on within a hour of getting it.

I would say they are ok but very thin and the pasanger side moves around easily. I might even sell mine and get some huskys.

Had mine about a month. Had a few folks ask about the "SS" decals; it's not "SS" but a factory TSS package that is pretty common in Texas on both Tacos and Tundras. Put the flares on, but everything else is factory.image.jpg

TSS is specific to Gulf States Toyota who owns all dealerships in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas. Far as I've ever been able to tell, the TSS adds zero to any package on the truck other than a bed decal.

Yeah it's basically an SR5, but according to window sticker, "Toyota Sport Series" option package adds towing package with associated fluid coolers, 17" wheels and tires, side step bars, TSS logo floor mats and tint, all for less than it would have cost me to do all of the above myself...

Thanks bro. I thought they went well with the rest of Inferno & Black options. But as they say, they're not for everyone.
