Planning on getting my front window tinted to match the rear. My question is for those that have done it. Did they have to disassemble the door panel?

The place that tinted mine did not take the door panels off.

When I got my tints done, they removed the door panels. No biggie, just make sure they re-install correctly. There's a bunch of clips to re-attach, some of which slide in a particular way. Also, make sure they do not break the seal on the door.

    They shouldn't have to.

The tint shop that done mine just popped the top of the door panel off and took those little 3 sided black plastic pieces off the door just in front of the bottom of the window.

professionally I think it should be off. but I had some cars tinted without taking panels off by the shop. I still have my 4runner that was tinted about 6yrs ago without taking panels off and no problems.

The shop that did mine has been doing tint since 1982 and did not remove the door panels. They have a lifetime warranty on the file and the workmanship. BTW if your state allows the windshield to be filmed DO IT! What an amazing difference in glare and interior temps yet barely noticeable at night, Texas just made it legal.

Curious as to how that would look (front windshield) do you have a pic of yours? Also, where can I find the info stating it is now legal here in TX?

Agree, its legal here also, I went very light on the windshield Llumar 50% and love it. Doors 3M Security Film. They pre-cut everythig with a plotter, didn't take anything off even when putting the 3M which is thicker and trickier to mount.
