Better solution is to get a Pioneer nex radio.

I recommend 4200 or 8200.
It retains your steering wheel controls on the left.

They have some awesome units with info that will blow away the stock systems with the little color display in the cluster.
Run off your android phone or iphone.
I believe you can run dashcommand also as well as it pulls from OBDII, that will give you a ton more vehicle info than the little color display on the factory unit.

Its the way to go IMO.
And if you change out to a Nex, you lose some functionality like turn by turn info in the "little" color display anyway. NEX's better than the stock radio. You won't miss the tiny display at all nor the stock radio. New radios blow it away.
You won't even want to look at the small thing in the middle of the cluster, period.

 

It is amazing what that device will do. This is why a lot of people don't op for that $$$$ factory head/dash. Better stuff out there for a better value.

 

I would bet the column is wired for the controls. Just like it's wired for cruise control on trucks that didn't come with cruise control. Fog lights are already added,I'm going to dig deeper into the cluster swap. I bought the SR because it had basically everything I wanted. Looks identical to an SR5 also. Everything is painted, no black plastic bumpers, no steel rims. $31,918 out the door, definitely not cheap.

 

Fog wiring not installed through the wheel if not factory installed.
Its a coin toss.
Then you might need an ecu reprogram too as well as wiring to the radio.
Go with the pioneer.

 

I know, under hood harness is there though. I used a stock 2015 dash switch and wired into the stock under hood panel then out to stock fogs and stock bezels. You'd never know it didn't come that way, you can't even see the wiring under the hood. I've been doing 12v electric work since 1999, my installs are very clean.

 

2016's fogs trigger the ecu with a control wire which can be picked off, which control the relay that is wired in the engine compartment properly. Clean. The way you did it won't pass inspection as fogs don't cut out on high beam unless you control with the low beam 12V line.
Did you use the factory harness that connects to the center connector behind the radiator ?

 

Partly right and inspection means absolutely nothing to me. I wired into the oem fuse panel using my own switch and harness. The trigger that tells the ecu to turn off the fog light circuit comes from the high beam wiring and has nothing to do with the fog light wiring. The fogs do cut off when high beams are switched on.

 

You could have used the factory relay setup in the fuse panel and a factory harness (available for purchase) that connects to that connector behind the radiator.

 

I made a harness from the connector behind the radiator out to the lights. Wired in a 2015 dash switch and ran my harness from that switch to the stock fuse panel and tied into the stock fog circuit. Essentially they work exactly as stock.

 

Not really. You are not utilizing the fog relay in the fuse panel, which is wired even if it didn't come with fogs.
Just pop the relay in.
2 minute job.

You know most of your comments make you come off a super douche. Just saying might want to be nicer to people.

 

Not using the stock relay no however I am using the stock circuit by simply using spade terminals. Lights power down when the parking lights are turned off, power down when the key is turned off, power down when the high beams are used. Same as stock I don't buy harnesses I can make just as well if not better. All soldered, all loomed, all tucked away nice and clean.

 

I don't use spade terminals. That does not look factory/clean to me. Sorry.
Also like to keep it spec on inspections if I decided to sell no issues.

 

31,918 for a SR? Where do you live? I got my QS TRD OR for 31800...No premium package of course.
