^^ THIS, i never messed with suspension before and I tackled it in a day and half. Invest in a torque wrench, jack stands and a couple floor jacks, and you can do it. WAY cheaper than having someone do it, and you also gain the knowledge of how your suspension works/is setup in case of something goes wrong.

Got my lift installed today. I must say it rides way better than stock. 887 coils with Headstrong 1/4" spacer, Dakar leafs, Light Racing UCA's, extended brake lines and 275/70/17 KO2's installed...

That's not a bad price for all of that work, to be honest. Was that including rear shock replacement as well?

Included everything and alignment. Thought he was gonna charge me more since I had UCA's and extended brake lines...

Finished installing OME kit (885's with driver side spacer) on my 2015 ORDC. Also installed Light Racing UCA's, GoodRidge front and rear brake lines, and carrier bearing drop kit. I have ordered the ICON sway bar relocation brackets due to proximity of coil and sway bar, but haven't received it yet. I also upgraded from my stock tires to KO2 265/65/16s.

I thought the 885 kit would give me 2 to 2.5 inches of lift once things settled down. But my kit is obviously an overachiever. Even if I subtract a half inch for the increased tire size, I have gained FOUR inches up front, and THREE inches in back.

The lift has been on about a week and the front end has been aligned. I've got some drive train vibration and I think the sway bar is hitting because the front end is standing proud.

Will the front end settle, or did I do something wrong??? I really can't see how I could install the coil/shock or UCA wrong to give me the additional height.

This is my first post so please be gentle. The alignment tech said everything looked good and he got very close to the 3,0,0 setting that has been mentioned in numerous posts. It drives fine except for the drivetrain vibration and occasional ringing of the coil by the sway bar.

I haven't installed my OME kit yet but lifted my previous 08 taco and experienced a few issues. Most folks remove the sway bar all together and never miss it. The front and rear suspension will settle a bit but the most I've heard is nominal unless you add bumpers, cap, etc. For the vibes, you may want to shim the leafs. It seems strange to me that so many folks are getting different heights from the same type of kits. Clean looking install and rig btw!

Might want to also check to see if you got 887s.

Rednecky, I went with 886 up front and ended up about the same as you, close to 4" in front and 3.5" in the rear.

Hey @RedNecky , OME2885's are a 2-2.5" Lift. When reading your email you sent to me I knew something was wrong. I looked at your post and after examining your pictures you left the 3 Zink Plated Nuts on the top mount. This is causing your extra height. This nuts are spacing your whole strut down. The three Nuts are there to replace the factory nuts. We put them on the top mount just for shipping so they don't get lost.

You will need to remove those nuts.

The Zink Nuts are Serrated Flange Nuts so that they don't back off.

I will make a note on our website so this does not happen in the future.

Sorry @RedNecky [IMG] If you already got an alignment you will have to get another one once your remove these nuts. I would beg your alignment guy to see if he can help you out.

As far as your rear leafs they will settle in. They're over arched so once the metal settles the vehicle is at the right height.

Thanks to Low Range Offroad for a quick diagnosis of my problem. Rookie mistake. I thought those nuts held the strut together. Looks like I added about 3/4 of lift with my cheap " extra bolt mod". I'll be under the truck next week to fix my mistake. Thanks again Low Range.

I did mine in about 2 hours including working on customer cars in between. Not sure what book time is, but 6.5hrs sounds steep

Tiger14, your struts kinda look like mine. Did you remove the three nuts on the top of the strut before installing it? I didn't and will be reinstalling them...

    Check post 2175 above.

@RedNecky mine should look like that. I have the top plate spacer installed on mine for the full 3" lift. I ordered the heavy kit with 886 coils for my bumper and winch. Thanks for the heads up though! I saw your post a few before mine. Glad you got it figured out and @Low Range Off-Road for chiming in to help you out!

The stock brake lines are fully stretched when the suspension is fully drooped on a lifted truck. Need to compensate the extra height and add extended brake lines. You could over extend your stock brake lines when you flex. I heard some people bending their brackets to make it work but I'd rather be safe than sorry...
