Check your local and state laws. That's probably illegal. In many states those reflectors are required by law. Amber up front, red in back.

My truck is an SR5. Has a chrome grille. I used Plastidip to turn it black. Then painted the Toyota emblem white. Looks MUCH better that way in my opinion.

a buddy of mine has been expressing the virtues of these tires and that size which i have been considering since i'll need tires in a couple of months. i guess i'm just a little too old school and i have a hard time selling the wheels i have i like the wider tire look. with a 4cyl i've also been concious of weight. i thought perhaps a good alternative would be the all new nitto ridge grapplers in my size of 285/70/17 and a c rating. trucks usage will remain alot of highway, some off roading during hunting season, and some trail riding but nothing too crazy. we are redoing the rear lift this weekend and getting rid of the block. then i'll be trying to figure out front suspension to get rid of the spacer. i'd like to retain the amount of lift in the front at 3" so i may continue to use my wheels and tires. justins truck is comparable to yours in the level of mods and his experience off roading i trust his guidence in this i guess i've just got some mental hurdles to get past

Yeah not everyone is into the "Pizza Cutter" look of narrow tire profiles. I didn't want to do the CMC so I went 255 instead of 285. Plus they are slightly heavier.

I will say this - I have the V6 Auto and the 33" 255 profile tire made a big impact on how the truck drove. So much so that I spent money to re-gear it. Can't imagine what a heavier tire would have done!

The 285 width would have benefits for looks - and loose terrain (snow, sand, mud). Otherwise the science claims that narrow is better for traction on hard/wet surfaces. More pounds per square inch that way.

In the end your truck needs to be setup the way YOU want - for what YOU want to do with it! :)

i appreciate the 255's and agree i think they are probably the best for all around traction i think thoug i really like my current wheels and the way it looks i'm just going to have to find a compromise that'll work all around

    Nope!
It looks like a wet piece of toilet paper blew onto my headlight and stuck there:( I really wanted this to work too dammitt!!! Maybe the black would look better on a black truck and the whole decal on there instead of what I cut off.......but I tore it off. Back to the drawing board.

Here is my 07 TRD Sport. This is my first post on TacomaWorld and I was hoping all of you white Taco lovers on here could help me out finding a new grille. What would look better: Chrome surround with black mesh or color matched surround with black mesh? IMG_1634.jpg
