I'm shooting for atleast a decent set up for running the dunes and fireroads, but mainly for doing trails and it's my daily so I'm not gonna beat it ya know.
I didn't think 2.5s would fit very well outside the frame rails. I figured I might need wheel spacers as is with 2.0s once I get all twisted up

Edit: and ups just stopped by

Well yea, for you may make sense. For me, no.. the 2.0s work great and chew up the washboard. That also is cause im valved.

@snowsk8air2 has the BAMF with 2.0s and he loves to speed. Maybe he can chime in on how they hold up. Sure the 2.5s have more oil and bigger so they are supposed to stay cooler. Buuuuuut, are you really pushing the shocks that hard for long periods of time?

is it a want or a need? or is it he who has the most expensive shocks wins? :)

Yeah I'm sticking with 2.0s for 2 reasons....I called micah and he said they are being built and 2 he claims 2.5s are pretty harsh intially. To get all that fluid moving takes a good hit.
My smoothies are adjustable and valved right (hopefully) for what I'm doing so I should be good.

This is true, my rear end is super harsh with my 2.5's. It rides like shit on the street, but in the dirt it's awesome.

Yeah I have a problem with my right foot being heavy as soon as I touch dirt. I am super happy with the 2.0s. Did Laughlin to Barstow last summer and didnt notice any fading due to the oil getting too hot. They are still a little harsh around town and on the street, but you're not doing this kind of build so it rides better on the street. Dsm did a great job with the Valving out of the box, though after a lot off offroad miles, some minor changes will be made when they get rebuilt.

That being said, I will eventually swap them for something with bypasses and possibly 2.5s to do better if I get airborn or hit some whoops. But love the bamf kit since it doesn't go through the bed. I've got allpro leafs and a shackle flip with longer shackles to set ride ht where I wanted it and get the shock pretty much 50/50 up/down travel. Rides great offroad and I am very happy with the route I took

Good to hear man, and nice rig! I checked your build out looks like we'll have almost the same suspension setup and looks like you do pretty well.
I'm in washington, we don't have a too much wide open stuff up here but the occasional dune trip I'll rip if I'm setup right.

Yeah I'm not in Cali anymore, so doing a lot less desert running. Still getting used to the forest and trees, but it's nice to be able to bomb down a forest service road at 50 and not really worry about hitting bumps, ruts, small rocks, and speed humps(most people slow down for the speed humps, I speed up)

I have. I think it's way more fun in the wintertime when there's a few feet of snow.

I went or in April for the first time in years. We got 3in of snow the night we got up there. For me being pretty much new to dirt bikes that was plenty

I talked to Jason about this setup awhile ago and he said the lower mounts are fine since they're so close to the tires, as long as you know your lines. But ultimately in typical jberry fashion, for me, he suggested 2.5x12 or 14 bypasses (don't quite remember) into the cab or 2.0 bypasses outside.

Yeah never rode the dirt bike there. Though I just got it out here not too long ago. I feel like it would be interesting on the bike.

Its very similar to riding in dunes but with pine trees everywhere and you don't sink nearly as badly
