If anybody is wondering. As a result of this and being that I had certificates, I am getting one free replacement tire. My spare was unused so I'll be running the spare and the free replacement in the back. I'm turning in my front two tires that measured 9 and 10/32 for $210 credit towards a new set of two fro the front(I'm told they'll be selling them for $50 each so I'm going to call about that tomorrow). I have to buy new certs for the new 3 tires as well so the grand total is $386 and I'll be on new tread all around with certs and a spare of 10/32. I'm thinking that it worked out ok. All that said I didn't measure them myself which I should.

I drive pretty consistently. 30 miles a day on commute, all highway. very minimal city driving, grocery store, errands. Always easy on the pedal.

I went from Dura Trac 265/75/16 Load Range C to St Maxx 265/75/16 Load Range E. My 10 Tank average on the Fuelly App was 15.9 MPG. My First tank on the same size ST Maxx was 16.3 MPG. My last 10 fill up average on ST Maxx is 16.6 MPG. I have gotten as high as 18.1 MPG when all highway and keeping it 2,000 Rpms or less(65MPH).

Moral of my story: tire weight/going from Load Range C to E doe NOT get you worse mileage.

Sounds a little steep...if you wait...they run good sales about once a quarter.

This is the breakdown on my 265/75/16...I just copied and pasted this from an old post earlier this year:

The prices the Discount Tire Store on ebay are much better than the store...I took a print out and the store matched. but be careful on the certificates.

For example One ebay ad has all 4 for $792 (+ $75 rebate) The store told me certificates are $35 each.
But the add I posted below has the same tires + certificates for only $100 more. So this deal I got was $40 cheaper

    So I got mine for $198/tire + $25 Certs + $16 install+ 8.125% Tax (-75 rebate = I drove out for $945 installed)

(I sold my old Duratracs for $150 on the way home...I guy asked to buy them at the gas station)...$795 was the bottom line.

Thats kind of what I was thinking. I found them on ebay.. 1100 with certs. 976 without. From Discount.. But sales tax applies to Az..

Opinions? I wouldn't mind waiting until they have a sale.. Maybe I can ask when im there.. But new tires are definitely needed asap..

Print out the $1100 and take it in. the current deal on 265/75/16 with certs is 924.00(+ no rebate). My tires+certs were $892 (-$75 cooper rebate) = 817 (Install & tax not included), so that is not comparable rock bottom price

I would Search ebay for tire size "##/##/## ST Maxx" once a week...the discount specials would change every 1-2 week. I would plot what was a good deal as it changed and figured out what was the best price.

I've been running the st maxx 255/80r17 for a few months and they howl like crazy on even the smallest corner and are not very confidence inspiring when running at highway speeds. What pressure are you guys having good luck with for road/highway? I have been running at 38psi. Thanks

Welp.. its done.. $1242 OTD with Certs from Discount. 285/70/17's. LOVE them and cant wait to get out and really use them. I'm mostly curious about how they will handle in the rain and snow as I wasnt that impressed with my previous Toyo AT2's performance in those categories. Quiet with just a hint of Mud Terrain rumble :D I can kinda hear/feel the rumble when turning.. not a big deal to me at all.. I kinda like it. reminds me that these awesome tires have some mean ass sidewalls. ;)
