Thanks again to the Gallagher Lake group; had a ton of fun checking out a new area and it was nice meeting you all! Don't know who has what name on here, otherwise I'd @ you.

Sorry to Joe about the breakage; finger's crossed it's a relatively easy fix? I'll throw some pictures up once I get them sorted. Looking forward to the next outing.

What happened? I made it home, I'm hoping it's just an axle, but it could be the diff.

    1. Limit strap upper mount broke off (just a bad weld, hard to get in there so I don't blame Dakota)
    2. Absolutely destroyed a wheel. Caliper versus spinning wheel = flat tire.
I remember putting the 2 bolts in the caliper on the passenger side and cranking them down as hard as I could but forgot about torquing them because we were already late for the alignment appointment. Bottom bolt fell out on the dirt road, caliper twisted and wore completely through my wheel and locked up my wheel, creating the flat tire. Luckily a jeep came by with a high lift since neither one of us had one (figured it was an easy trail and didn't need it, BIG mistake). Only other 17mm bolt we thought of was off the skid plate, which is a bit too long but it was enough to get me home. Torqued it down and didn't budge the 110 miles home.
Have to find a new wheel, and get a new 17mm bolt to go in the back of the caliper. Could have ended much worse, especially if I just went home and not up in the mountain.
Also going to check it all today or tomorrow to make sure the caliper is okay and nothing else is damaged.

I'll take a picture of the wheel today. Didn't get any during the whole deal. My front rock lights came in handy though ;)

It was pretty wild, but at least the guys in the jeep were cool about it and didn't give us to much shit.

Yeah wasn't fun, luckily between both of us we had everything (besides a hi lift) for a trail repair.

looking closer now I don't see any holes in the wheel. Going to take it to Les Schwab tomorrow and have them put it in their water bath to find where air is leaking.

Well i didnt really take any pictures till the end of the day but heres the better of the ones i did take.

    At the trailhead

The first climb after the lake. Really wasnt bad at all if you hugged drivers side. If not well you end up with a tire in the air :)

Then the second hill is where whatever the heck happened to @GSPRunner happened. Broke something at that spot and kept sliding towards the trees so a quick winch to get the ass straightened out and he rolled off the hill just fine.

Everyone else who wanted to made it up pretty easy

The only place it seemed @GSPRunner couldnt manage in 2wd was this hill but a quick tug and he was up.

And that was it. Pretty uneventful but a nice day!

One another noted...my @Benson X inspired hi-lift mount decided it had enough. Think i'd used 1/8" thick aluminum (or might have been steel i dont remember) which must have just creased a bit and then with ~1.5 year of bouncing around finally had enough. O well I needed to make a new one for the fire extinguisher so Ill redo this one too. I did hear something bouncing around in the rear so glad it was just this and not something more serious!

Not anymore. The threads were chewed up at the end on my driver side bolt so much that the nut wouldn't thread on. @utroda had the idea of filing it down and thankfully it worked. Don't expect to take them off again for quite some time haha thanks though!
