Haven't drained it yet. Got the shit swapped in the rain last night and long enough to pack up my camping shit and head home by 10 PM. Gonna start getting to it in a little bit. Want to go back and red loctite the LBJ bolts and torque everything properly that I couldn't torque last night. Also want to make sure the front shaft doesn't spin in 2WD now.

Yea seeing all the lower ball joint bolts falling out has made me pretty paranoid about looking at mine all the time.

    Stuff. Also things.
I'm happy to hear that! I heard that having it eliminates the need for the 'ECGS bushing' fix as well. Between the locker and the compressor and manifold kit, it took a sizeable chunk out of my budget, but the 315s drove the regear, and the regear is when you want to toss in the locker, so I pulled the trigger. In a couple months, I'm sure I won't give a shit about the money spent!

Thanks again for the info! I'm hugely indebted to this forum as a knowledge base and a sounding board. Hopefully some day I can help another new guy out!

There's a very common theme among all the trucks you see with failing ball joints

Gonna go start changing my leaf springs in about an hour, any tips??

I've been spraying some stuff like Wd-40 on all the bolts the past few days to hopefully help break things loose.

Saw that one of my balljoints is going bad. Theres just a tiny bit of play in it. So I'm ordering total chaos uca's next paycheck or the Allpro uca's. Going to be sweet in 2-3 weeks either way.

Ya I remember awhile back someone was having some issues with a pulley bolt and that's what they used.

what do you mean cut? all you gota do is loosen the boot clamp to separate. theres nothing actually holding them together but the boots. then just seal off the end thats left in the hub.

edit: i havent taken the outer boot off before and assumed the axle would pull out same as the inner.
