    Just picked one up. I drove 75 miles to Rausch, wheeled, drove home, drove back this morning, then to Centralia, wheeled there, and drove home. With no oil cap!!

    Found this in my front diff. Spun the front drive shaft and the main ring looks okay so thinking spider gears like we originally suspected.

    Also went back and re torqued and loc tited everything I half assed yesterday. Was nice being in my garage dry and with air tools

    You can definitely get that retubed. I disagree with the one piece drive shaft, just for ground clearance reasons but it's much worse with the dclb.

    At the last mod day at @PSU Taco85 last mod day I attended compared drive angles on I wanna say @planters15 truck or @nj636 truck and it was like an inch difference.

    this, and a common problem our long trucks (access and short beds included) is high center with the rear axle all the way drooped. The 1 pies drive shaft makes it much more likely to spin against said surface you're HC on.

    Regardless, the drive shafts are vulnerable and I never wheel without a spare anymore.

    Definitely will man, as far as I know, the current group I'll be with from FJNortheasters is probably gonn be 5 or so rigs, definitely have room for one more taco in a 4Runner heavy crowd. Gonna be a guy with an FJ40 in the group that'll be in on some blacks

    Could always add a trac bar... I think? :notsure: Mark said he made a new trac bar for his truck (yes I know GIANT difference in axles) but he said it sits lower than the shaft

    All I have is the CB itself, need a coax cable, antenna and power wiring. Gonna wait til I install a bluesea box to hook it up since I'm current run of two sets of lights and a winch hooked right to the battery

    If it turns into more than an easy spider gear change, I was at our yard doing some work today since I took the last two days off and noticed we got a 3rd gen 4Runner in Friday while I was gone. 4 wheel drive and axle code on the vin tag says it's got 4.10's. Lemme know if you need the whole ifs cause of a gear or bearing problem.

    Not a necessity. I like the idea of only having to bring the back half of a shaft along as a spare. But for me the front half is custom anyway & a stock one won't fit.

    That's where I just got my front ifs from. Was at another yard we work with making a pick up and saw a t boned 2014 4banger there. 20k miles. Got the thing for a good price too

    While I could swap that entire diff in and be good to go, I would still have spiders as a weak point so I am waiting till I can regear and get the arb front
