    There are 100's of bs post on here daily.

    Was not my post ..it was quoted from a real owner towing a real travel trailer that weighed UNDER THE 6800 TOWING CAPACITY AND IT COULD NOT MAINTAIN 60 MPH ON PERFECTLY FLAT GROUND.....what else do you want?

    Go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uS3PZpkSkdA

    At time 5:03 with a 5600 pound load plus 5140 with passengers for a total of 10740 showing close to 70 mph.

    Truth hurts.

    Good response as usual. :drunk::drunk::drunk:

    It's pretty naive to think any mid-sizer could comfortably tow 5500 lbs . If I owned a 5500 lb trailer I would jump straight to a full size.

    About the only thing I have left to say is had the tundra came with the 3.5, I would have bought that instead.

    I agree but there are people on this forum that believe what they read about tow ratings and go off and try to pull what is clearly over the trucks limit.Just ask 2016Tacoman he will tell you all about tow ratings ..LOL

    Maybe the guy that was having the issues pulling his truck at 60 mph on flat ground should view this video......probably would take care of all his 3RD gen towing problems...LMAO...then he wouldnt have to sell to upsize to a more capable truck...

    FWIW, I finally got around to driving a 3rd gen the other day. All I can say is I agree the new 3.5 sucks. Even my Wife said this doesn't drive like your old Tacoma's did. The other problem is I drove a Ridgeline 10 minutes earlier on the exact same track as the Tacoma. The Ridgeline kicks the Taco's ass I must admit. It's faster, more quiet, smoother, corners better, and is way more comfortable. I love Taco's and have one on order, but I am honestly considering cancelling my order. I don't need a truck for off-roading, so that is not a concern. I really don't understand the people that say the Ridgeline is not a truck. I've owned 3 Tacomas, 3 Frontiers, and 3 F-150's. I think I know what a truck is. I see no reason one could not call the Gen 2 Ridgeline a truck.

    Take a look at my fuelly. The 16.9mpg was towing a 4,000 lb Hi Lo Travel Trailer, keeping up with the semis on I194, I 94 and I 80 around bottom of Lake Michigan last weekend, 450 miles from Travers City, MI to home in Wisconsin. Truck has plenty of torque and power, trade it if you can't drive it. It ain't the truck.

    No, they offer better marketing. I routinely beat the tar out of friends with GM or Ford F150's in gas mileage. Friend with eco boost cant tow what I do, need the v8, not the eco boost.

    I just don't get why towing is such an issue on here. If you plan on towing a lot. There are plenty of other more realistic options.

    The 2nd Gen Taco's 4.0 could tow loads better with low-end torque. The gripe is the 3rd gen lost that ability when it went to the 3.5 with power higher in the RPM band which is useless for towing. It's not necessarily and upgrade from the 2nd gen in the towing aspect.

    I'm just saying.if towing was a concern for me. Mid size wouldn't be a option.
