I bought a late 2015 model non-TRD SR5 (to get the DCLB) and it apparently doesn't have the tire pressure sensors. Is this a TRD-only feature? Or something I've just missed on my SR5, or something I could possibly add to it?

My 2009 SR5 has aftermarket aluminum wheels installed by dealership, and it has the standard TPMS valves/sensors.

If you bought a new 2015 then it does have the tire sensors, it's the law. If you bought a used 2015 and it doesn't have them, then that means the original owner removed them.

It was definitely brand new when I bought it. I guess I need to do some reading in the owner's manual?

I'll do that button initialization as soon as I can. But just wondering, is there a display somewhere that shows the pressure in each tire? Or is this just a warning system that goes off if one (or more) tire(s) gets too low?

My 2015 SR5 DCLB has them. As stated above the vehicle is required by Federal law to have them (new).

What makes you think you don't have them? Is the TPMS light illuminated or something?

TPMS doesn't show pressure. It only warns you if you get "dangerously" low (Mine comes on after I deflated down to 18PSI when I off-road for example). I'm not sure what the actual threshold is though.

Yes it's just a warning light that lets you know that one of your tires is low.

Okay, perfect. I've never had my tires go low enough to trigger it. I just had an assumption in my head that maybe there was a screen on the radio console or something that showed actual pressure in each tire. Seems like I've seen that on more expensive cars I've ridden in, is all.

    Thanks guys.

A cross section of a tire with a ! in the middle should come on when you start the truck and then go off after about a second.

That's on any normal startup? Or just when there's a problem?

Nevermind, I'm dumb. Missed the one second thing. So just like all the other dash indicators, comes on for a second, then turns off. If there's a problem it comes on and stays on.

I'll look for it next time I start my truck.

If you did not have TPS sensors the light would stay on. Also just so you know your factory spare does not have a TPS sensor. The Tacoma computer only has room for 4 TPS sensors. So even if you add one to your spare, there is no option to add one to the TPS system on a 2015. I have tried.

Federal regulation is TPMS should activate if tire has dropped 25% from the pressure that was set/reset.
    32 / 4 = 8 pound loss for example.

I would think it should have the sensors. Although, without the sensors installed the tire pressure warning light should be lit on the dash. After about 15-20 minutes of driving the tire pressure light will flash for about 30 seconds indicating a problem with the tire pressure monitoring system. Then it will stay on continuous until you turn the truck off.

Side note, I noticed you said you got the non-TRD for a DCLB. The TRD Sport is offered in a DCLB configuration. Thats what I went with.

I had two dealerships try to get me trucks from other dealerships because there was nothing in my area. We tried for BRM, Silver, TRD, non-TRD, and when I was just about to lose hope and quit having them look, they were able to get a white DCLB SR5 for me. I figured I am going to put my own suspension on anyway, and the other TRD upgrades were inconsequential to me. I also got to disliking the hood scoop the more I test drove a Sport. So an SR5 as the base to build the truck I want as I go seemed like a good way to go. I will eventually put air lockers on.
