Thanks! Color match has been great, I can't tell any difference in various light conditions and I'm pretty particular. I was concerned when I ordered the cap, but shoutout to Leer for getting the color combo down. The rep told me the topper roof will hold 500lb, but the Thule bars are only rated for 165lb.

It certainly looks that way and you would know if it wasn't in certain light: it would be noticeable (like the first generation of plastic bumpers were sometimes a little different hue with white paint than the metal they were next to back in the day).

The weight limit sounds really good, actually. I wonder if they make a short bed version...looking now!

The truck in my profile, I sadly watched it drive away yesterday. Five years ago, I got my dream truck, a 2001 Toyota Pickup, a Tacoma, 4x4 with a manual transmission for $5,500 from my best friend with 80,000 miles on it. I loved it. With 178,000, I had no doubt it would reliably make 250,000 or more. Life had other plans. With a son just over a year, and a brother for him on the way, we had to upgrade to four doors.

Since I have every intention of keeping this truck for at least 250,000 miles, I wanted to get it just right, so we ordered a new one. Just two weeks ago we picked up a 2016 Tacoma Double Cab TRD Off-Road with the towing package and a manual transmission. So far, I miss some of the rawness of the 2001, but do appreciate how well this truck is engineered and built.

So far we have installed ditch mounted Rhino Racks tracks on the cab to put our old Yakimas on and also swapped on the P265/75R16 BFG A/T KO2's from the old truck. I'm having a heck of time finding the pigtail for the trailer controller, but this is supposed to be remedied next week. We have a SnugTop on order, so that should arrive in a few weeks. Besides this, I may consider some sort of behind grill light bar and a hidden front mount receiver for a winch on tray.

My philosophy has been to keep a truck mostly stock. After all, most of the miles are getting to and from the woods, not in the woods. Once in the woods, I am constantly amazed at how 20 years of getting to and from out-of-the-way-places in the woods enables me to typically get much further with much less effort than much more built rigs. Still, everybody needs a little help now and again, hence my idea to put a receiver on the front and wire the truck for a winch front and back.

My first Tacoma! Still not quite done with her, but happy so far. Added a VIAIR onboard air system, last week(already got to use it twice on backhoe and a trailer tire) Snapchat-5728770488512393910.jpg Snapchat-1889213933954770204.jpg IMG_20160626_155235220.jpg

I opted for the knock-off's, that I found on Amazon(waaaaay cheaper) and they still seem to be plenty bright!

Ordered my Tacoma June 21 and it came July 21! Longest wait of my life. But glad I waited. Have yet to see the same truck in Miami. image.jpgimage.jpg

Dipped my grill, emblems, bumper, tinted front windows, greased my u joints and extended my condensation line so it doesn't drip on the frame all this weekend. Also debadged the V6 after the pic was taken.

Yup just a month I was surprised I've seen people waiting for about 5 months lol. I went to a lot of dealers and nobody had any TRD off-road on the lot and only one dealer would actually order one for me.

    Mostly stuff I built.
How do you like the pizza cutters so far? I have been considering the same tires on FJ steelies for my truck.

@Spokruiser that seems like a pretty good deal, I'm guessing that price is without premium and technology? Please send me your salesman's info when you can, thanks.

I think the kayak is tied to the roof and he is parked underneath it.
