Early 16(Oct15) Four Door LB Sport. Had this done last Saturday Micheal's Toyota in Bellevue. Was given a Rav4 to drive. Only symptom I had was was cruise control issue. Seems to have fixed that. Not feeling a vast improvement in preformance that others are feeling. Have gone through one tank of gas since, tickling 20mpg about the same as it was before. No update sticker, Dunno as long as it doesn't revert back to the CC issue I guess I am happy.

I purchased a 2016 DCLB OffRoad to replace my '05 DCLB Sport that was totaled. The truck is being delivered to SC from a dealership in MD and I was hoping to have the TSB done at the dealership before it's delivered to me. They tell me they can't do the TSB unless the driver reports the specific problem... Since I haven't driven the truck and won't be able to until delivery, I'm out of luck. Is this true? Has anyone else had the TSB done prior to driving the truck?

I don't want to take delivery of the truck and immediately have to drive it to a local dealership to have something fixed.

I'm really not experiencing the issues that this TSB fixes but my VIN does fall in the range. Would it change/hurt anything if I got this done anyways?

Had this done Saturday and it feels like a different truck. Shifts are so smooth now. When i punched it the truck would down shift so hard it felt like i was going to drop the transmission. its no longer doing that. Also it would randomly red line without going anywhere, that is now gone. don't know gas millage difference as i just had this done but the 100+ miles i have put on have been smooooooth.

If your truck was made after mid-July it should have new software on it. I would make them confirm it does. Toyota should make that information available. If you are spending ~$35-40k you should be able to know this.

I'd get it done anyway. It's free.

Truck had a fairly significant Upshift Flare from 2nd to 3rd this morning. Bizarre. Anyone else getting that? It's only when I first start driving it out of my neighborhood then it clears up.

I still think it's a positive update overall but I am getting a more exaggerated 2nd to 3rd gear upshift FLARE (trans slipping???) when I first hop in the truck in the AM. Have you guys noticed this? It's weird as hell! I did get one harsh upshift almost like a clunk from 1st to 2nd gear on day 1 post TSB but have not really noticed that since. The 2nd to 3rd upshift flare is worse however. Overall I feel the truck is more drivable now but still needs some tweaking. Let's hope Toyota keeps working on this....wish they'd address us owners to give us some feedback and let us know they're working on improvements. The thought that we might be stuck with some of these issues is pretty discouraging.

Hmm, I wondered about the Vin and later months..

Where do I go to view the TSB? Also, my sales guy did not explain ECT and I pulled a small off road trailer for the first 750 miles. 360 full and 360 empty...

At high altitudes that thing searched gears a ton. Wish I had done more research on the ECT, as maybe that would have helped with the trailer. I tried it last night on my way to a hockey game and it drove like a sports car..

I am still scheduled for the TSB on August 22.

Nearly 2 weeks after TSB and works great. Zero issues.

Similar here, but it's only after I drive it for awhile then let it set a few hours. Does it once and then it's fine.

Hmm I have only noticed mine first thing in the morning but yep it does it once, then after that it is fine. Something going on with the fluid pressure inside these trannys?

I didn't notice a huge difference either. I pulled the positive terminal over the weekend and it does feel much better. I'm not sure they reset the learning when they perform the TSB or it may be an option when flashing. Sort of like wiping dalvic cache when loading ROMs.

Yes I still get them when the trans is cooled off.....or fluid drains from the TC. I suspect that may be a mechanical issue that can't be corrected by s/w.

Thanks for the info. the "build date" for my truck is the 13th of July. Now, I'm not sure if that's the start or completion date but I know that the TSB was dated 07/14 (the following day). I'm right on the edge; there's no question that I want this double-checked... the only question is whether I can ask the dealer to check before shipping the vehicle or if I'll just have to wait and go to a local dealership. Just a pain

Agree something is allowing that passage to bleed off then once it's cycled/engaged it's fine. Mine was worse before the TSB and would jump 5-800 Rpm when it was cooler out now it seems like it's only 1-200. The only way they can really fix pressure is a different solenoid with a different spring rate, reflashing will not correct it if it is that.
