The key is to follow the road past the stream crossing. But yeah, the south side of the lake is always crazy busy.

Appreciate that. Haven't gone back any further than Sherwin/Upper Chinns, so I'll have to go check out more of the area.

The road ends at the best spot available; it's on the northwest side of Chinn's, and overlooks both lakes. It's elevated compared to the south side of Chinn's, and there's a little rock shelf right below it. Enough room for two tents, easily.

Cut out of work a bit early on a Friday and park there in the afternoon. If you want to be further secluded, you can just backpack in past the boulders that block off vehicle access at the edge of this campsite.

I parked a stone's throw from the red X and hiked down to Sherwin to fish. Didn't know the vehicle portion ended there. I just fixed my Backcountry Nav Pro and have my FS maps working again, as those are better with distinguishing between vehicle and foot paths. The print map I have led me to believe vehicles could go further. Thanks for the great info.

I got called in to work. So instead of hanging out with the cool kids playing with trucks outside, I was sitting in an office for 13 hours. I don't recommend that as a way to spend a Saturday.

If 3 to 4 1/4 mile runs hurts your transmission Toyota is in for a world of hurt.

I just ordered a clamshell bushing from ECGS, does anyone have a needle bearing removal tool that I could borrow/rent/whatever? I dont want to spend $60 on a one time use tool. Maybe a meet/mod/BS day in my garage in the near future...
