all rustoleum paint. automotive primer, semi-gloss black enamel, and the emblems have an additional coat of metallic blue to match the soon to be installed kings.

This is a second set of sport rims I picked up for pretty cheap. planning on running a road and off-road set. pics will follow installs, I should probably just start a build thread...

My truck had a pretty big weekend. Started off with a 1" Toytec body lift (already have 3 inch suspension lift installed), then we got 1.25 Inch Spidetrax wheel adapters installed, as well as Opt7 led pods flush mounted in Rigid Industries fog light brackets. Then I installed Oznium flush mount led bolt lights in the bottom of the doors for puddle lights. Everything was a super clean install this weekend and The truck is looking great! What does this entail besides new grill assembly and new head lights?

Gotcha. I used Duplicolor wheel paint on my current set and it laid like shit. It sprayed super dry and ugh

If I do any off-roading where you go under 10mph, or its a steep slow climb I'll use 4-low. It's a lot easier on the truck. 4-low is fore more than technical stuff, or when you get stuck that's when you try crawl control or your dif-locker

Got hit with a golf ball at the course under the passenger side front window. An inch either way and it would be worse but that dent is going to bug the hell out of me.

A little more back spin and you would have had a new window ... lucked out.

That sucks, I think I would have had it hit the window instead of leaving the dent at least you can get a new window easy enough. That dent would drive me nuts to

Full OME Kit (885s, Dakar Leaf Pack, Nitrochargers F + R)
Spent Saturday installing my full OME suspension kit! My cousin recently opened himself a shop, so he was nice enough to let me make use of his shop and lift, and helped me (a lot) with the install. I've never even so much as changed the oil in a vehicle, so I was stoked to get my hands dirty and learn. When I bought this truck in April, I made a pledge to myself to learn more about how it works, and work on it myself, because I'm no longer satisfied knowing jack shit about how automobiles work. And being able to work on a vehicle seems like a pretty damn useful life skill. So I decided to go balls deep right from the start and upgrade my suspension.

Anyway, specs, all Old Man Emu:

    • Dakar Leaf Springs
    • 885 coils
    • Nitrocharger Sport shocks front and rear
Everything feels great post-install, save for some driveline vibes at and around 55km/h in third gear (manual transmission). First order of business is going to removing the top overload leaf, as many have done. I have more rake than I'd like anyway, and that should drop the rear around 5/8". If the issue persists, I'll just pop on a carrier bearing drop kit.

Thanks to tacomaworld.com and it's members for all the stellar info that's up on this website. It's invaluable to be able to read about the experiences of others who have done what you want to do, and share their knowledge about what you want to know. Here's to the first of many more mods. ;)

I was in the dog house this weekend so I finally had a reason to do the black head light mod. It’s actually pretty easy.
