Heck yeah!! See you guys there -- if not sooner. Hopefully sooner.

word. Thanks for clearing that up. You like em - and that's fantastic. Our (all of us) tires aren't cheap so when you're happy with them it's a great feeling. Stoked that you dig yours and really mash em up. Respect!

I'm sure we'll be hitting someplace up this weekend...might just do Rowher/Lookout or someplace closer since there are bigger trips coming up.

Have you been to Rowher Flats yet? It's a great place to get some wheeling/4x4 experience in, a wide variety of trails ranging from easy to difficult...would be a good place to go this weekend if you're able to!

I haven't yet. My only other 4x4 friend usually works the weekends which is my only time to go. If you head out there this weekend let me know I'm definitely down to go

Nice! Wish I could make it this weekend but I'm headed to a wedding Wednesday thru Friday and then right back to work Sat and Sunday day. Now that I think about it I believe the TTORA big bear event is going to be my next time on the trails. Till then I'll be vicariously living through your awesome photographs.

The company may have just pulled a shock off the shelf and slapped a coil on it. Just because others haven't seen the front coilover come with a shield doesn't mean they're all the same. From what I see that looks like a shield to me. If so, cut that plastic thing off if it'll be less annoying to you. I'm actually considering throwing em on my rears to mitigate pitting.

Thanks! Yeah I had someone in another thread tell me the same thing, most don't come with the dust shield but for whatever reason, others do. I'm just going to attempt to take it off and see if that takes care of the occasional clunk I'm hearing from that side...something tells me it's unrelated to that though because it's a pretty heavy sounding one and that dust shield is just a thin piece of plastic. We shall see

I just looked. I have these plastic "dust covers" on my front 5100's.

Haven't had any noticeable issues with them though. If I do experience a problem, I'll just cut them off.

Might be that they come with the dust shield when ordered through HS

Sometimes aftermarket as well as stock UCA's clunk. Trucks making truck noises for the most part. Just verify the bolts are torqued correctly and you're hitting them with grease. You're an avid wheeler so a couple shots of grease every month or two and you'll be fine. I wish UCAs came with a tell tale so we know when enough grease has been injected. Eh, it's what it is.

The 5100s I was running never had the dust sheild..

Don't think you would hear that plastic sheild peice especially from inside the cab anyways?? Clunking is probably something else:notsure:

Yeah, that's pushing it. I've seen $10k bearings blow out when over greased in a centrifugal pump. That's always in the back of my mind. Not that UCAs have bearings but over greasing is just as bad as under greasing.
