What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

This stuff right? Proven? Anyone have it?

Well I have the K&N and know from experience its faster and louder. Looking into the AFE eventually when i can afford it because it seems to have the same or better performance while also being quieter and cleaner than a K&N

 

and yeah thats definitely the same brand, as long as the page for it says its for a 2016, I know AFE made intakes for the 2nd Gen tacos as well

Same thing happened to me when I was having a little fun in the snow.

If you press the brake and gas at the same time, the truck will shut down and low oil pressure warning light will come on. At least that's what I was told by a toyota tech. Perhaps the transition from brake to gas was too abrupt?

I think that it's some sort of safety feature...either way...I'm not a fan.

 

Lol. I was like what??? I was talking about the cold air intake.....and you don't have anyone out in your area who does embroidery? I just feel like it will be like 60 bucks for it to get to you, shipping and product...

basically prevents you from rolling backwards into a vehicle behind you in case you dont find the accelerator quick enough.

 

this is actually the smart-stop technology. remember the whole "floormat jamming the gas pedal" toyota experienced a few years back? we had to reflash all the computers to ignore throttle input and cut engine power anytime the computer sees inputs on both the accelerator and brake pedals. its an "emergency stop mode" should your accelerator get jammed.
having experienced this happen on an Avalon unexpectedly, it is a nice feature to have when the brakes would not slow down an engine at full-throttle in time. It cuts the engine power down so the brakes can fully do their job.

My salesman got me to demonstrate the smart stop during the test drive, it actually stopped quicker as the ECU knew I was in a panic situation

did you use the "old" jl stealth box from the 2nd gen? and are you rinning all channels off that one amp from front to back to front again? quality setup

DB customz. I got the wrong emblem but I'm really happy with it. Installs pretty easy.

 

Woo!! 19 sheets of Shok Industries sound deadener in the truck! One left over....now where to put it...

What is the round thing sticking out of the roof? Looks like a vent or something.
