We had a great group

...Still felt a little inadequate compared to Mark and Craig

I've run trail 13 on every tire size I've had (except stock) and the third time was the charm. So much easier on 315's lol

This is key to my wheeling style and travelling...if it breaks I'm gonna fix it. If it takes another day or two, or some more cash, so be it. It about the adventure, getting out of the cubicle and living, really living. People (who dont understand) think I'm crazy, really if its that bad I'll get a rental and drivehome...come back later for the truck. But I don't want it to hear me talking like that, its not going to ever come to that.

You did great! Me and my buddy were talking about that the whole time on Saturday morning! A great group for sure!

Oh stahp...like Craig said...it's all the crawlbox haha.

Took a look over the truck yesterday, thought I had made it out okay...

Found the rear diff drain plug 1/3 of the way unscrewed, must of done that massaging the yellow racket rocks. Need a better, deeper guard design without being a rock magnet. (aka no diff diaper).

Turns out that on defrost mode, even without turning the a/c button on, the systems turns on the a/c automatically.
So that explains the belt/pump screaming after the few minutes on 81, ran out of oil for the OBA and failed. Woops

Yup, that's why I cut my belt in the middle of winter cause I couldn't not have a defroster when my AC clutch was seizing.

Also as far as the rear diff goes, maybe get a piece of tube with the inner diameter similar to the outer diameter of the original ring, cut to about a 1/2" length and burn it on?

@Squeaky Penguin did something similar I believe because of how chewed up his original ring got.

    It is definitely fun.

This was my old truck, I pushed it pretty far then saw a couple guys break some serious parts and decided to go with a dedicated wheeling rig.

Got a dead spot on your starter, probably the plunger or the contacts have dirt/worn out. It will get worse slowly.

You can buy replacement contacts and/or plunger from toyota for a few bucks. Do not use your denso one as a core for a pos advance auto/vatozone/napa etc. Rebuild yours.

Ive gotten mine dirty a few times and rebuilt it twice now.

Yeah unfortunately found that out the hard way, oops, easy swap though.

Need to spend time looking at designing something that'll work good. Half of my protective circle is already smooth.

Yeah it's a tough thing to protect and I am not a fan of diff diapers either. Only thing I can think of is burning more metal on and using a low profile plug. Though the down side to those plugs is that they are the allen key kind and damn near stripped mine pulling it from my front diff this weekend.

Yeah thats what this was, low profile allen key plug. That's how much material is missing off the diff plug guard.

Looks like Ballistic fab makes a guard I can modify with some slope curves up to the drain plug. Cut the curve off an angle the edges for rocks to slide up maybe...

@Mobtown Offroad - you have a solution to protect the rear diff drain plug?
