About Eh I went in following the ruts so the water maybe got up to the top of my rim at most. The rock in the middle caught me off guard though....

I grounded it to my tail light ground - I don't suggest this.. ever.. I still can't hear anyone on any channel while driving on 495 with the trucks. SWR is 2.5 between 1 and 40.

Nice I grew up in Belmont so spent a lot of time over there since Belmont's a dry town and all the Lexington kids had nice houses to crash parties at....

Went to Minuteman tech and used to party on the weekends here with buddies from school back in the day.

I did order a small swr meter... I hadn't thought of just checking what it's at grounded to the rack, or grounded to the frame... Thanks!

No siree, came from a 1999 3.4L Tacoma, straight from the land of no rust, CA..... funny thing was I had to track down the VIN for the axle cause I ended up with wheel bearings that didnt fit ....in that process I found a pic of the donor truck, same color and tires as my current rig! thought that was pretty ironic. also good to see the fucker didn't get like t-boned by a semi or some shit

Wish I could pull the trigger on a CB setup before the trip...but I'll just be the guy with a handheld walkie talkie trying to fit in  I think that Cobra 75WXST seems pretty sweet, like that fact that its non-obtrusive in the cab as opposed to the boxes that have to hang somewhere. What are you guys running for CB setups?

Whip antennas are the way to go. On the cobra 75 I was picking up someone in Arizona... Also had an swr of 1.5 from the get go... Til my cheap coax shorted and I tore it all apart and never put it back together again...

Running the cobra 75 too. Had it in my taco and now my fj. Id suggest an external mic for it since it's not that loud, otherwise it's good. Nice that it can be hidden away and the handset removed, though I usually keep mine hooked up.

I don't know what brand or model mine is lol. It fit perfectly in the ashtray didn't even need to make brackets it fit so snug. Got a magnet antenna that works mint.

Mine came unwired when I was taking apart the dash 2 years ago never really got around to fixing it yet.
