I have a 2014 TRD/or. I put 3" OME lift on a few months back and ever since both the ABS and VSC lights are constantly on.

I've checked the sensors and they are plugged in and nothing looks damaged, though I know they're delicate so maybe something got stretched internally. I haven't put a voltmeter on them yet. I've tried recalibrating the truck using the method in the "Lift with VSC Answer" thread to no avail.

Does anyone know what this might be? Ways to diagnose or fix? Thanks.

Definitely possible a wire or sensor was damaged during the lift.

Also, if the light is on, it means there is a problem with the system. Its like a warning light. You could check the abs fuse.

I was going to pull both ABS fuses tonight and check them. Does anyone know whether checking each abs sensor with a voltmeter will help show which one was damaged?

Update: I checked both fuses. They're fine. So I used this POST in toyotanation and this POST in another TW thread to use a jump wire to read the codes on the ABS and VSC. For those who come across this in the future, its really easy. You use a jump wire to connect terminals 4 and 13 on the OBDII port (any wire or small paper clip works fine). I used random wire left over from a lighting project so I could sit in the seat and watch everything on the dash. You connect the terminals, turn the ignition to run and the dash goes full Clark Griswald Christmas.

All warning lights should blink rapidly and in a steady ryhthm of around 2 blinks per second. As you watch the ABS and VSC lights (or any other warning lights that may be throwing a code) they have a different pattern which is telling you the trouble code. My ABS would have 3 blinks - pause - 1 blink. This pattern kept repeating so I wrote it down. Similar with VSC light: 4 blinks-pause-3 blinks. It told me that the problem lies in the front right wheel sensor, which is likely triggering the VSC warning light. Now on to trouble shoot that sensor and see if I damaged the wire during lift install or if there is just something interfering with the sensor (dust, dirt, grime, etc.). I'll keep updating as I try to track down this issue as I know other guys have had this problem with no good threads on here of how to diagnose and fix (at least that I could find). They all seem to die out.

Further update - after reviewing the Tacoma FSM (here), Pg. BC-162 confirms that the VSC code I am geting (43) means there is an issue with the ABS Control System (most likely jacked up front right speed sensor) and its not the MUCH MORE expensive jacked up Skid Control ECU (which I think is $1200 just for the part).

EDIT - next step now is to pull the speed sensor and check for any glaring issues and then follow the steps outline in pgs. BC 27-33 (here)

If it is the wheel sensor, perhaps you could find a used one for a better price from a slavage yard or online.

That's likely the route I will try to go. It's not too expensive though, $140. Of course, I'd rather it be $20, but at least its not unbearable.

Did you happen to look at the sensor and double check thats its completley plugged in? Could have pulled out somewhat if its overextended from the lift.

Haven't had a chance yet as I'm at the office. I will check either on my lunch break or when I get home from work.

Well, most likely figured it out on my end. After checking the sensor in the hub and the connection to that (both looked fine and wires were not stretched) I followed to the engine bay where there were literally two wires hanging free and completely pulled out of the connector. Gonna fix that and then report back to see if that was the only issue.

Well, I swung by the dealer to see if they would fix it under warranty. They won't b/c of the lift. So I'm just going to solder the wires together and cover with heat shrink and then electrical tape on top of that to ensure it is as dust/water proof as possible then I'll do a zero-point calibration on the abs and vsc. I also think I need to re-calibrate my steering angle sensor, which I'll check out how to do that in the field service manual I linked to a few posts up. The dealer wanted $320 to fix it. I kindly asked them to bring my truck around as that was an absurd price to attach a $60-70 wire with quick connects.
