when I was a teen I lived near that drive in it was in the fairborn area I think. All they showed was XXX rated movies. WE would get a cooler full of beer, sometimes take some girls, and get drunk and watch dirty movies.

This one is in my hometown of Lancaster, Oh which is southeast of Columbus. They have never showed dirty movies at this one ... its very family oriented and draws in lots of young kids. Usually show a kid type movie first then second movie something more adults would like

I never remembered driving to a drive in as a teenager to watch movies.

on second thought that drive in near fairborn was called the skyborn. I know where Lancaster is I used to live in Ross county.

It won't fail .. do what was suggested above. Park truck (on level ground) put in neutral and then shut off and turn key to auxilary for radio

You'll be fine, a couple hours with nothing but the radio on will not drain a battery (in good condition) down to the point of not starting. And, like someone above said, most drive-ins are equipped to give people a boost if needed.

I just made this yesterday, still needs an antenna and a handle, but it is mostly complete. It is dual purpose, for home use (I have a 12v switching power converter), and for use at the drive-in theater down the road. It has a male 12v plug, and I plan to mod one of my existing plugs on my truck so it is hot all the time. Can't wait to use it next time we go. Don't mind my sneezing beagle in the background :)
