Question; I wanted to level the truck and improve the ride over the stock TRD OR while getting just a little lift. Largest tire I would put on is maybe a 275/70/16. My local shop suggested the 5100s all around and keeping the stock springs since I didn't need much lift. I like the sound of not using any plates or blocks, does this sound like a good way to go?

    Couple things....

    1) Very rarely are you going to improve the ride over factory settings and at the same time add lift, unless you drop some serious $coin$. Especially with the 5100's, as you'll be compressing the factory spring, thus making a stiffer ride... How much stiffer depends on what settings you set the ride height level to. Personally I wouldn't go over the second setting of .85", anything more and I'd go with a OEM spring paired with the 5100s up front. .85 setting should level you out since you have a TRD OR.

    2) No point in really spending the extra $$$ on the rear 5100s... Since you already have a TRD OR, you have stock 4600s, that are effectively the same thing as the 5100s, just a different color (silver to match the front 5100s) and come with a dust cover, every thing else is the same.

    3) If you want a slight lift/level, I'd maybe look at either keeping the front 5100s set at .85", or pair them with a set of OEM (Old Man Emu) springs, probably the 886, that way you can set the shock at 0, and the spring will do the lifting. Also, if you really want to swap out the rears for a different/better shock, I'd look at the 5160s for the rear.... .maybe take a look at the 6112s for the front, if you really want a better ride... But like i said before, more $$$.

Already have the rears... Ordering the 6112s next week... What size tires are you running? And I see you have mud guards, as do I, any rubbing? Are they factory mud guards?

Going off on a tangent here, so bare with me...
Been thinking about this for a while. The rear is more/less 1" higher than the front from factory. If I set the fronts to the 3rd settings (1.69"), I'll effectively have a .75" higher front (bro lean). I also have a set of SumoSprings I plan on installing at the same time, which should lift the rear by all accounts, 1/2" - 5/8", leaving .25" front over rear.... Which should more/less be level to the naked eye, and if the 3rd setting settles to 1.5", should be perfectly level.

Sorry, just wondering if I even need to order a progressive leaf pack... Might just install everything and see we're I'm at, and see if I need it or not. Definitely would need it at the 4th setting of 2" on the 6112's.

Sounds like you got it figured with the rear end . Tires on mine are 265s. Factory flaps and no rub.

How much lift does this add? Torn between Toytec and the OME. I want to achieve 2.5-3 inches of lift

Truck is in getting an alignment right now. I was unaware we get one free one in the first year. Although I caused it by lifting. Pretty pleased regardless. Superior Toyota in Erie PA. Been extremely pleased with their service department over the last 6 or 7 years I have used them.

    Trucks looks good!

Did you get UCA's? How did the alignment turn out? Any leafs or overload removed from dakars? How much lift was achieved front and rear?

    Thanks.

Where can I find the info about lifted tacomas and the traction control/roll stability turning on? Just started noticing it around turns after my suspension lift
