Yes but it's been on since I bought it!! Also I blew a tire a while back and it ripped my exhaust off and pulled the wires out of the o2 sensor!! But that's been over six months ago!! And I've never had a problem with it!! I just taped up the wires!! So far I've changed mass air flow sensor plugs wires coil packs and fuel filter!! I don't know anything else to check that's in my mechanical skills!! But I'm loosing work day after day and got to get this thing fixed!! And thanks for informing me about the abbreviation!!!

Shot in the dark..............Head gasket bad. miss-firing due to coolant polluting the fuel and air charge. If it's really a 2002 look at the motor up at the top on the throttle body and it should have a cable for the throttle and not the fly by wire throttle body on the 2003-2004 models and you can probably rule out throttle position sensor. Scan the OBD system. There is always a clue unless some one disconnects the battery or it dies from battery being bad or reset engine light. The truck will loose it's fuel pressure and fuel trims run like crap for a few key cycles but what your describing can be so many things we need better clues.

Yeah sounds like you need to get your O2 sensor fixed then get your check engine light codes and go from there.

Yeah man...a check engine light is on for a reason, it means something is wrong. If it goes unfixed, it will only get worse...sounds like that's exactly what's happened here. Definitely need to replace your o2 sensor, and then get a scanner to read the CEL code (or just take it to Autozone or someplace like it and they'll do it for free). Those codes will help you narrow down any other issues your truck has. Never just let a CEL go unchecked! Hope you get it all worked out.

this is not a serious matter.

please know that using help in your title is frowned upon unless you are in need of rescue, or in a life threatening circumstance.

the issue of using it in every day titles, when it isn't needed, is that most people become blind to something they see everyday.

don't contribute to someone not reading a thread that actually needs help.

you can edit your thread title by clicking thread tools and then edit title.

Get those codes checked, post them up here and we'll be able to help narrow it down for you. A check engine light could mean any one of a hundred different things, but the code(s) is what helps point you in the right direction.

There is a poll at the top of this thread that has the choices "Why" and "Me" ....anyway, just get those codes from the CEL pulled man. Post them up here (maybe start a new thread for it) and we'll be able to help narrow it down for you, hopefully.
