Free Toyota Care oil changes for the 10k & 20k service. If you have never changed oil in a vehicle yourself then you need to have someone show you, it is VERY easy !
    In short ....
    1. Remove factory skid plate to gain access to your oil filter
    2. Get catch pan and place under your oil pan, remove oil pan bolt and drain oil in pan till it stops draining or to a minimum trickle. Put oil pan bolt back in and tighten
    3. Loosen oil filter and remove, replace with new oil filter .. check that gasket on filter is intact and put a very light coat of oil on gasket. Spin new filter on hand tight and then just a slight nudge with your filter wrench
    4. Fill with fresh 0-W-20 motor oil
Just a quick how to ( i have the SR5 2.7L 4cyl ) ... forgot to add that before i start i pop the hood and remove the oil fill cap. Also i have this filter wrench ..
    Screenshot_2016-08-03-06-38-27.jpg
And i use this Toyota oil filter .. personal preference

    Screenshot_2016-08-03-06-44-18.jpg
And i would recommend the Toyota 0W20 motor oil but the brand is up to you

Thanks for the right put but doesn't the 2016 Tacoma have a canister oil filter now instead of the the one you have a picture of I could be wrong but not sure? And the only reason I ask this is because I went for my first 5000 mile tire rotation and fluid check and my wind shield fluid was filled up and it was empity not sure if they fill that or not and I don't believe the rotated my tired because scuff mark on one of my tires and it was not moved I've alway done my own work to my truck and not to happy about somebody else doing it!

The 4-cylinder 2.7 has the oil filter shown in my post .... the 3.5 V6 has the canister type
    That's why in my post i stated " I have the SR5 2.7L 4-cyl "

Yes at my local Toyota dealership, also if you ask they will let you bring in your own empty jugs and they will fill them at a steep discount ( they buy in bulk in drums ) don't quote me but i think my dealer told me $3.60/quart if i bring empty jugs .. if you buy the Toyota quart bottles it's like $6.25/quart

You are quite welcome ! Here is another great tip i found on here ... a case of 10 Toyota oil filters for $37.26, i ordered a case for my 2.7L and received them in about 3-days. Here is link below ....

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-unchained5150-the-duke-of-deals-deals-thread.432586/

He has filters for the 4-cyl and for the V6, you just go on the ebay page and make the offer for $37.26

BE very careful not to drain your transmission by accident. One member already posted here, it's not hard to do, just make sure to drain the right pan.

    I found this video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slrxxWsa2uU

Edit: But it does not cover the filter change in video

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

Perhaps you'd like to make your own and show us how it's done?
And to answer your baseless question, no I didn't make the vid.
I would have changed the filter, but it does at least show the OP where it is and what to expect and if it's something he really wants to deal with.
Moreover, it offers a lot more than anything of value that you have provided thus far, and I would expect much better from someone as loud as you are.

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

The problem I have in ignoring stupid ppl and idiotic comments is that the world is full of them, and he's actually doing us a favor by keeping the others away! lmaoooo!
So no, I won't ignore him or anybody, for those same reasons.

    Cheers!

    good luck with it.

side note; if you're changing every 5k miles instead of every 10k per the manual, you can forego the cartridge filter on the 3.5L and just drain and fill. the filters are engineered to last quite a min 10k miles. just hold back on a half-quart on the fill. drive it around a bit and then check your level on level ground. the canister and filter can retain up to 1/2 quart or 250ml at all times.

    (edit: mileage change)

The '16 Toyota Tacoma warranty and maintenance guide recommends oil & filter change at 10k, page 38.
