Thoughts on using this as a donor for a camping trailer? Would need some work, a lift and some new walls... But seeing as I have the tools and capability....

Figured if I take down the walls, remove the plastic liner and reinforce the steel frame, replace whatever suspension is on there... I could pretty much box the whole thing and make something similar to this:

 

It's doable for sure! go for it, I say, worst case scenario you get stuck with some scrap. Definitely check how rusty it is.

 

From the photos it looks like the suspension/axle underside is a bit rusty

 

I like the size and shape but the tongue is pretty funky.

Trailers are super easy to lift just flip it to spring over.

 

And if you need even more lift after just custom fab some shackles. Trailers are great like that since you don't have to worry about driveshaft angles, drop pitman arms, and all that other crap that comes with lifting a truck.

 

Let's not forget about the size of the ball resting on the tongue...

 

Vice-versa.
